Version 3.5.3 (22Oct24) Constant Resets

On iPhone 15 pro with 18.1 Release Candidate. New version of iPhone icetv app is unusable.
It appears to do app reset, both randomly when I click on something and every time I go back to Icetv app. it pops up with updating: series, shows etc and it loses where I was in the guide. Some times the light grey screen, during reset sequence, persists on completion where nothing can then be selected. (Though maybe pulling screen down clears it?)
I've uninstalled, reinstalled and even changed new setting: update timers to 5min.
If it's 18.1 RC fault 18.1 Final releases today. I'll see if it's fixed.

Hi Dacho,

That's strange.  The new app v3.5.3 is a total rewrite using Apple's latest code base as the old version was near to being unsupported and off the App Store.  I'm running 18.1 RC on a iPhone 15 Pro with zero problems and, before release, it is tested across every current supported iOS and iPhone.

Have you tried a deletion of the app, a hard reset of the iPhone, then reinstall?

BTW not related but I've had a nightmare with iMessage not working so Apple have some issues which as usual they are not admitting!

Good idea, I'd not thought of a hard reset between uninstall/reinstall.
Still happening though.
Any other suggestions.

Let's see what happens when you install the public release as we have no other reports of problems.

I have also seen the same thing in the app that Dacho has seen, but as well as the update popups when I open tha app, I sometimes get them when I return to the app home screen from another screen by swiping right.

I just confirmed that I'm still getting the updating popups when I open the app.

I'll try deleting and restoring the app.

 I'm running the 3.5.3 (241) iOS app on an iPhone 12 mini, iOS 18.0.1.

I deleted the IceTV app, re-installed it, and after I'd logged in, I went to the Settings screen, and when I swiped right to go back to the main screen, I got the update popups.

After typing that, I went back to my phone, swiped up in the lock screen to go back to the still-active app, and I got the update popups again.

And after going back to the home screen from the IceTV app, I opened it again, and got the update screens again.

Removing and re-installing the app doesn't seemed to have helped me.

I've copied this forum thread to the developer as mine is fine but there's obviously something strange and difficult to replicate going on.

I have not had these issues on either my iPhone 16 Plus or my iPad Air 13", both running 18.0.1.

I have noticed when setting timer sometimes I have to do it a second time - could be user error.

I find the App is much easier to use on the iPhone 16 Plus than it was on my recently departed iPhone 10.

My developer can't reproduce the error either on his iPhone 16 Pro or his Apple development kit which simulates all the versions and phone models.  So we are at a loss as if we can't reproduce it we can't fix it!

Maybe an errant piece of EPG data has caused it and it will clear when its day goes by?

iOS 18.1 release version has not helped.
I've tried sequence of uninstall app , phone reset, install, phone reset, app reset.

Still does even in the middle of trying to record a show.

Sounds like this is the issue. So waiting for epg update to fix.

Yes, the incorrect duration for the Kelly Clarkson show has been fixed for me (ACT IceGuide), and the app problem, too. So perhaps they were connected.
