IceTV timers not showing in EPG

Idle question, but I've noticed of late that timers are not showing in the EPG as 'red filled' cells.
This problem happened some time back, but went away, I think, after a service rescan.
These timers are all created via IceTV. Haven't noticed the issue with timers set directly via the EPG.
The pop-up shows the timer listed, and indeed the timer fires correctly.
Any ideas?

Check if there are any old timers stuck at the top of the timer list. The first timer in the list should be for today or later. It should NOT be for a date or time in the past. If there are old timers in the list, delete them.

Then reboot the Beyonwiz.

Hi Dave,
Definitely no old timers dagging about. Only timers listed are IceTV ones, and all for today and beyond.

Ok, switch the Beyonwiz off, then turn off at the power point for 20 seconds. After turning it back on check if the timers have the red background in the guide.

A possibility is that some of the channels are excluded by using favourites.  Wouldn't stop timers being set up.

I think that may have been what caused this problem when I first experienced it some time back. However, I haven't mucked about with anything for many months...so nothing I've done (famous last words) has caused this.

Now wait for those words to bite me..... :)

I have seen this issue before, where a hard reboot fixed it.

But favourites could cause the same apparent behaviour. To check if you are using favourites at the moment just press the List button while viewing any channel live. If the 2nd row of the window says "Fav: " then you are in a favourite group - press the blue button to exit to All Services.

The OP says that the problem is that the IceTV Web page says that the timer is still "queued", but it has in fact been set on the device. He sees the timers in the timer list. I doubt very much that this problem has anything to do with the use of Favourites.

This is a problem that I've raised in the forum many times, and I still see it myself occasionally. But I've just stopped bothering to report it, because the situation never seems to change, and it happens infrequently enough not to prompt me to get back on the bandwagon. The OP is reporting it here on my prompting from when he reported the problem on the Beyonwiz forum.

Some instances when I've reported it:

The oldest of those reports is from Oct 1 2009.  ::)

I also get occasional cases where a recording on the IceTV Web pages gets a yellow warning triangle even though the timer has in fact been sent. I can't be bothered searching for those reports, but I'm sure anyone who does a search on "triangle" for user prl in Advanced Search will find enough of them.

My suspicion is that the "IceTV Web still shows queued even though timer has been set" is due to the handshake between the IceTV server and the Beyonwiz doesn't complete for some reason.

I believe the original post was asking about the Beyonwiz guide no longer highlighting timers with the red background.

That is what the Ice techs told me when trying to diagnose the issue with a Topfield TF7100HDPVRt. Logs showed that the most successful handshake (to my mind) was almost immediately after the first transfer of timers to the PVR. Sometimes the handshake would not show in the logs until the second or third transfer of timers. Sometimes the handshake was not there at all.

This was occurring on and off over the past two to three months. The techs were in the process of knocking up some test software to test my connection with the servers. There was a suggestion in the background that caching by ISPs might be the culprit. You will recall what you thought about that.

We didn't pursue the issue because the TF7100HDPVRt developed a fault in the meantime, possibly due to a failing power supply. We agreed that the PSU might be at the root of the open red circle issue; or on the other hand, it could have had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Throughout, the issue never surfaced with my DP-P2. Occasionally an open red circle might appear but was resolved on next startup from standby.

I've looked back at it and the original post on the Beyonwiz forum, and you're correct. Apologies.
