Rescheduled recording fails

I have a Beyonwiz U4 that seems to fail to record MasterChef if there is a timer conflict.

It reschedules the recording but the recording is only about 7 minutes in length. This seems to happen consistently with MasterChef but doesn't seem to happen with other programmes.

I have deleted and reinstalled the IceTv account details to refresh the connection and rebooted the U4 but it is still happening.

I could untick the timer conflict control on the web but is this the only option?

Changing the "Enable Timer Conflict Avoidance" setting only changes what IceTV does in response to the Beyonwiz reporting a timer conflict, which is caused by the timer being requested needing to use a tuner that doesn't exist on the PVR (on a U4 without USB tuners, wanting to record from more than 3 different broadcasters at once).

Turning it off will just mean that if a timer conflict is reported for a recording timer being sent by IceTV, you'll get no recording of the episode at all.

I've never had problems with IceTV Timer Conflict Avoidance, though that doesn't mean that there can't be circumstances where it does the wrong thing.

Was the 7-minute recording made at the time that the original timer would have been set for (the first showing of the MasterChef episode), or at the time of an "encore" repeat?

A general note about timer conflicts - if you have pre- or post-padding set for recordings on the Beyonwiz, conflicts can happen at any time during the whole recording, including during the padding times.

As you discovered, that's unlikely to fix the problem.

Like Peter, I have not seen the problem you describe. I only have this feature on one account which has 4 Toppys and a U4 (has 5 tuners so it is redundant).

I have 2 T2's and they frequently have clashes as they intermittently drop the third USB tuner.

The ultimate solution would be to find another tuner for the U4 - I have Sony PlayTV dual tuner on both my U4 and T2 where they have worked reliably for many years.
