I don't know what I did but I have a problem with when I view the recorded programme, 'Subtitles' automatically springs into action I can't turn it off unless I use the correct remote button for 'Subtitles Off' and then the Subtitles disappear.  However, if I view another programme; Subtitles will go on and if I return back to the previous programme, the Subtitles will automatically return and consequently i have to hit the Subtitles Remote Button to turn off again.
Any person out there that has an understanding of what I did wrong in 'Settings' and how I get out of this dilemma?

Subtitles will be pre-selected on any recordings that have been made on a channel that's set to show subtitles. If all the recordings that pre-select subtitles are on a small number of channels, then check those channels to see whether they have subtitles on them.

It's also possible to permanently switch on subtitles in the settings, but that's probably less likely for someone to do accidentally. If the problem isn't that subtitles are set on a channel, I can tell you how to check for "subtitles always on" settings in the settings. There in a part of the settings where people don't often venture, that's why I suggested looking at the channel subtitle settings - it's easier for that to happen accidentally.

Even if you were, it's not in that settings section (MENU>Setup>TV>Subtitle settings).

Subtitles can be permanently enabled in MENU>Setup>TV>Auto language, by setting any one of the Subtitle language selection 1/2/3/4 settings to "English".

If you've set any of the 4 subtitle language preferences to English, then set them back to None. The change will only take effect the next time you change channels.

I'm glad you managed to get it sorted.
