Not sure if this is the right sub-forum ... if not, then please move.

Also, you may already be aware if this upcoming change.

If not, then just a "Heads Up" that the ABC NEWS Channel and ABC Entertains is moving to HD in June:

I presume that at least some changes would need to be made to IceTV's backend.

I know that my old'ish Hisence TV will automatically pick up the changes (based on previous channel changes). However, I think my U4 might need to do a rescan. Time will tell.

Since all of the FTA networks have a fixed bandwidth, I would presume that the current bitrate of existing channels will need to be reduced to accommodate these changes. Particularly, since the ABC (& SBS) also have radio channels.

Bazza, thanks for the information. I see Victoria is the last area for the change (26 June) - I think I am away for a few day around then.

@Daniel Hall, am I correct that if the couplets do not change that will bee seamless on my Beyonwiz and Toppys.
IceTV: IceBox + BYOB IceBox + 2xTRF-2400 + 2xTF7100HDPVRtPlus + SKIPPA [RIP] + T2 + U4 + V2
No IceTV: a few Toppys and T2
Synology NAS

The good news is that it looks like they are just changing the bitrate and the compression for the channels so all PVR's won't need to have anything changed. They will just work before and after the change with a better picture afterwards.
