I've received a notification on my Beyonwiz T3 about a new firmware update. This is surprising given the age of the machine so I've not installed it until I know more. I'm a bit scared to install this considering that the website "https://beyonwiz.com.au/" no longer exists! My concern is that someone has managed to gain control of the firmware distribution method and may be attempting to install malware. Does anyone have details on this (or know where I can find details)?

My Beyonwiz T3 currently has (from: Menu key > "Information" > "About"):

There has been an update to the picons made available to accommodate changed channel names and logos.

Blip is correct. The recent Beyonwiz firmware updates only affect the picon setup - the logo images used to help identify channels.

It's very unlikely that there will ever be any further updates to the actual software that runs the Beyonwizes.

One option is to switch from the Beyonwiz software to a different enigma2-based firmware - at the moment the only one is OpenATV.
