Hi. I've had a Beyonwiz T4 for years and it's been working fine but just moved house... Intially at the new place, the T4 was connected via a telstra modem using the mobile sim and it was working fine. NBN fibre got connected to my house along with the NBN box and since then, the beyonwiz loses its internet connection after a few days and gets an IP address unconfirmed and Nameserver unconfirmed error during the network test. I reset the T4 to factory settings and was able to connect to the network again successfully but after a few days, the same error occurs. Any ideas on how to fix this?

If this is a NBN FTTP connection with the NBN box being a NTU (NTD) then you would normally need a NAT router connected to the NTU to manage your home network. The router would generally be configured with DHCP to hand out IP addresses to devices on your LAN, including the T4. Depending on how the network interface of the T4 is set up, it should maintain its internet connection whether it is configured to get an IP address automatically (DHCP) from the router or with a static IP address that you enter manually.

It sounds like there may be a mismatch with NAT router and T4 network configurations on your LAN.

Thanks Raymondjpg. Any idea what steps I should take to fix it? Should I try resetting the modem?

Make sure that the DHCP server in the router is enabled, and that the T4 network interface is set to DHCP, then reboot the router then reboot the T4.

If you still have problems then consult first with the technical support service of your ISP who should either have provided the hardware used to connect you to the internet, or given you the option to provide your own. If the latter then you may need to enlist the services of an independent networking specialist to help you set it up.

Thanks Raymond. So far so good. After rebooting the nbn device, then modem, then Beyonwiz, it's kept the ip address for a few days. Let's see if it lasts a week! 🤞
