Hi Peter,

You should have received the replacement Remote 1 by now and it should be working properly?

General / Re: IceBox Roadmap

Right now we are stuck in securing new supply as the explosive growth in AI Data Centres has sucked up memory chips worldwide, consequently the cost of a new IceBox with similar performance would increase by at least $100 which is commercially unsustainable.  We are waiting for alternatives to Intel such as AMD to produce new cost effective chips as this cost blowout is effecting every device sold to consumers. Once we know we have continuity of supply we can settle back down to future updates however right now there are quite a few edge case bugs that need fixing which we are working on, plus other IceTV EPG data management issues.

Will keep you posted for which an announcement of our next IceBox delivery via our "IcePicks" bi-weekly email will be one of the posts.

Hi Peter,

I'm afraid we are out of stock of any spare tuners and the substantial minimum order quantities from China mean that we can't just order a few spares, we need to order a sufficient volume that would come with our next IceBox order (and they are two separate manufacturers to make it even more difficult).  Also we are nearly out of IceBoxes and have been unable to place a new order as the demand for memory chips due to the explosion in AI data enters has pushed our prices up by at least $100 which is an uncommercial price to a consumer.  So right now we are waiting out this situation and hoping AMD will come up with cost effective solution and we'd order the Remote2s at the same time.

When the Remote 2 is back on our store we'll update the website and put something in our bi-weekly TV Recommendation email.

In the meantime I'm happy to send you an earlier Remote 1 free of charge (we have a few left) to keep you going. If it plays up after a few months lodge a support ticket and we'll send the the complete remote reset procedure which has been successful for other users.

Hi Mark,

As we are showing on our website we are nearly out of IceBox stock so are harvesting the tuners and remotes.  We do have a couple of spare tuners but what would you do for a remote as a BYOB.  We can't sell them for non-IceBox use.

Getting Help / Re: Forced EPG refresh

Yes going to your account, now I'm home,I can see the IceBox is connecting and fetching EPG data and recordings are set. Does your timer list show set recordings as they are all confirmed by our servers?

Daniel our Technical Manager is away until Monday so it may have to wait until then but if your recordings are happening then you could continue via our app or website.  Conversely try a soft reset albeit a hassle.

It sounds as if you have lost your internet connection.  Usually a reboot reconnects but as it sounds like you've done one go to Settings - LibreELEC - Network. If you are wifi switch the little on/off slider off, wait a few seconds then on again and you should see the IceBox reconnecting.  If you are wired Ethernet check all connections.

A reboot will reload the EPG, either via holding the remote on/off button down and choosing the option or via the on/off symbol at the top left of the home screen beside the settings cog.

My advice to to only use IceTV's app or website to set recordings.

Getting Help / Re: no EPG or channels
November 15, 2025, 07:16:27 PM
Hi,  the problem is that you haven't connected to your wifi network.  Please follow this procedure as listed in our website Help IceBox section.  When you enter your wifi password please ensure that the window that you return to shows an IP address and  "Ready" then "Online".

Hello Brian,

Apologies for the spelling mistake, proof reading one's own copy is always risky.

Regarding our website TV Guide advert IceTV, like any commercial enterprise, reserves the right to advertise a new product to its existing customers as well as seeking new ones. As such we will not remove the advert for a period of time until we are sure that our current customers who have an automatic log in to our website have been made aware of the IceBox presence, and its unique automatic commercial break adverting skipping functionality.  We have invested considerable time and money in developing it as Beyonwiz have closed down and we had no other partner's PVRs upon which to offer our services. It is IceTV's lifeline to continue in business. Quite a few Beyonwiz users such as you have already adopted it as theirs failed and are very happy with its performance.

As to our services being barely adequate I can only say that as a tiny company we all do our best.

This bickering over show details that most users ignore wastes our valuable time.

Hi Stephanie, my first advice is to ensure that the IceBox tuners are connected to the splitter, and the splitter is connected via an aerial cable to the aerial wall socket, as shown in our setup guide found under Help - IceBox on our website.  Also the TV can be connected to the splitter as shown in that setup  guide should you ever need free-to-air TV on the new TV.  Also ensure the little "adapters" on the splitter are not loose but "squeezing by fingers" tight.

Give us 25 hours in a 24 hour day and I'm sure we'll get on top of these issues.  It's on the list but doesn't affect anyone's recordings, neither choices or accuracy.

It will be done when we come up for air.

Getting Help / Re: Icebox power cables

Hi,

Yes you could definitely get one from a Jaycar type store or online. The spec in volts and amps is on the side.  More amps would be no problem in a replacement, definitely not less and the volts should be the same.

We have never had one fail before?
