About 3 days ago, I noticed the time on the front of my V2 box was stuck at 20:10. I change the source on my TV to the Beyonwiz, to find the spinner was on and rotating at super super slow pace.

The spinner appears when the user interface firmware hasn't been back to accept user inputs (remote, front panel buttons, keyboard, etc) for longer than a set time. It means that the firmware is busy on something that can't be interrupted. If the spinner stays on, it usually means that the firmware has got itself into an infinite loop. The only way out is, as, you say, to turn it off at the mains, wait a bit, then turn it back on.

It's odd that the spinner was running slower than normal, though.

I chose to back up the V2 first. That took about 10 minutes

That doesn't sound right, if you mean the settings update that's suggested in the update procedure. That should normally take seconds, not minutes.

So where has this update come from and who published it?

The update was to the channel picons to take into account gecent channel changes, like 10 HD+ and the SBS Viceland -> SBS2 branding change.

I created it, and adoxa published it on his feeds (you need to change your Beyonwiz's feeds configuration to access them), and peteru published it on the Beyonwiz feeds in the usual way. Adoxa has taken it off his feeds since the picons became available on the Beyonwiz feeds.

Had anyone else had this happen? 

The updates should be available to everyone who has a network-connected Beyonwiz and has online updates enabled (the default).

There are no updates to the firmware beyond the picons in the update.

The IceGuide for Prime7 HD seems to have been sorted out for the coming week. Thanks to everyone at IceTV involved in fixing it up. YourTV's guide now seems to have been sorted, too: they still have two Seven slots for Canberra, but they now at least agree with each other (and look like they agree with reality)!

The only oddity I found in  the IceGuide is one that the other two guides I looked at don't agree on, either:
On Wed 21 Oct, the IceGuide has Bridge of Lies S1E2 at 1pm, followed by Bridge of Lies S1E1, which seems an odd order for broadcast, but may well be correct. YourTV for Seven Canberra has BoL S1E2 at 1pm, then an unspecified BoL episode at 2pm. The ABC guide for Prime7 Canberra has an unspecified episode of Bridge of Lies: Celebrity Specials at 1pm, and an unspecified episode of BoL at 2pm.

I'm not sure how anyone could work out what it's actually going to be!

It seems to start going off-piste at 2pm, and then gets back in line at the 6pm news.

The issue that  IanL-S mentioned is only with Prime7 HD Canberra. Not even Prime Canberra is affected by that one, but it could be the cause of double recordings on Prime7 HD Canberra, though I haven't seen the issue affecting the Supercars Bathurst 1000 broadcasts.

A Taste for Murder has now appeared in the Canberra IceGuide, thanks.

But tonight our IceGuide is showing two episodes of Better Homes & Gardens S32E56 on Prime7 HD both starting at 7pm, and both marked as new runs. In the same timeslot the IceGuide is showing a single run of Better Homes & Gardens S32E56 starting at 7pm, marked as a repeat. I'm not sure whether it's a repeat or not, but the doubled-up episodes at the same time on Prime7 HD are surely wrong.

On our Beyonwiz, there are two recording timers set by our IceTV series recording for Better Homes & Gardens on Prime7 HD, but one starts at 9pm and the other at 10pm. It looks like when the IceGuide for Prime7 HD for tonight was untangled, something wasn't done quite right for Better Homes & Gardens.

Yes, thanks, Daniel. Our IceTv recording for A Taste for Murder is good now. For some reason, though, we still have two recordings set on the Beyonwiz, but that may be just because of the way the EPG was fixed.

Appreciate that the problem is with the EPG data you're ingesting, and that the problem is not of IceTV's making.

My understanding is that IceTV is only provided with "ingestible" data by the ABC and SBS. It creates its own schedules for the commercial channels.

There's more strangeness with the IceGuide for Prime 7 HD Canberra.

It's now showing A Taste For Murder 'Granny's Birthday Cake' S1 E2 at 9:05pm, Wed, 7 Oct and at 10:05pm the same night. The first is marked as first run, and the second is marked as a repeat, but both are marked as recording in my My Week, and I have timers set by IceTV for both on our Beyonwiz, even though the IceTV recording for A Taste For Murder is set as First Runs Only.

Yourtv.com.au for those times in Canberra is almost as much of a mess, and shows 2 EPG entries for Seven (not Prime) each with different shows in those timeslots. The Canberra Times printed weekly guide has A taste for Murder at 9:05pm and House of Wellness at 10:05pm, which I think is how it was last week.

Added: I just saw a Prime Canberra ad for A Taste for Murder at 9pm tomorrow 7 Oct.

Oops. I must have missed SBS's announcements of its demise.

I don't have any SBS Worldwatch EPG data for the ACT - neither on Beyonwiz nor the iPS app.
