Getting Help / Re: Icebox power cables
September 01, 2025, 04:13:39 PM
Well I got another transformer and cable from Jaycar. They tested the cable with a multimeter and ii seemed to be producing 12v at the plug that goes into the Icebox. I bought a replacement transformer unit anyway.

It seemed that the plug going into the Icebox from the new transformer was a better fit than the old transformer (the Icebox has been moved around a bit so it could have slightly altered the design of the original plug). The other possibility was a broken wire in the orignial transformer's cable/plug. Etiher way the Icebox is now working so I'm happy.

Getting Help / Icebox power cables

It seems that the transformer on the Icebox power cable is getting power - the blue light is on but the power is not getting to the box. Is the transformer and cable a specific item or is something similar available from somewhere like Jaycar?

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Missing EPG data

Not a problem and no need for an apology.

It's more a case of if you don't know, you can't do anything about it.

IceTV EPG Content / Missing EPG data
February 21, 2025, 08:18:41 PM
On my Icebox the guide for 7 & 9 Network stations are incomplete. At the moment the next item for 9 Brisbane is at 11.05pm tonight. The next item for a 7 station is The Yorkshire Vet at 1130 on Sunday night. ABC, SBS and 10 are fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

General / Re: IceBox and Harmony Elite

Quote from: TimC on January 28, 2024, 12:12:25 AMMy understanding of the Harmony is that it is an IR Device, not RF.
Thanks for the post and i haven't done anything about getting an IceBox yet. My understanding is the Harmony Elite is a RF device as it comes with a 'blaster' (for want of a better term) to place in the AV cabinet as well as two additional IR generators to put under the receiver of 'difficult' rquipment items.

General / IceBox and Harmony Elite
December 29, 2023, 11:04:48 AM
Hi all,

My Beyonwiz PVR is slowly dying and I'm thinking of replacing it with an IceBox. I have a Harmony Elite that controls the AV system and would prefer to link the IceBox into the Harmony system so I don't have to use two remote controls. Would anyone know if this is possible?

Quote from: MD on August 27, 2022, 04:34:35 PMWe will commence using and debugging it in a week or so.  I'd estimate it will go live in about two months but that is hostage to chip supplies and delivery of the hardware to Australia.
Thanks and good luck!

Quote from: MD on August 15, 2022, 04:22:00 PMI'd "guess", as the whole software adaptation is a new world, the ETA of the IceTV miniPC PVR is three months maximum as Dan and I are about three weeks from initial testing of two units, then we'll give out three more for independent customer testing once our own testing establishes stability.  The target price is $449 1 x dual tuner, and approx $145 for an extra dual tuner. but the upward creep of chip prices makes that uncertain.

Hi MD,

Just wondering how the testing of your solution to not being able to get a IceTV compatible PVR is going. The reason for asking is that I currently have a Beyonwiz T3 that occasionally gives a hint it is not long for this world and I'd hate to lose IceTV capability. No pressure!

Beyonwiz / Beyondwiz U4

I know there are few if any in the wild yet - but is the Beyondwiz U4 compatible with IceTV? My Toppy 2460 is dying and I'm considering replacements.

Topfield / Re: Toppy 2460 rebooting in Brisbane
May 15, 2017, 09:42:32 PM
Thanks folks - took all the SD channels off the TV guide and the Toppy has been running for a couple of hours.  Would I be correct in surmising that this 'undocumented product feature' was not fixed before Topfield's latest dramas - so it probably never will be?

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is a problem with the EPG or if my Toppy is telling me it time to be pensioned off.

Status Update 3

All Recorders should now be working properly - 10pm Thu 23rd June.

  • Humax PVRs should be working normally now.
  • Windows Media Centers should be working normally now. Click on the Login button in the IceTV Interactive program.
  • Topfield PVRs should be working normally now.

Thanks for getting the servers back up and the advice at 10pm that it had happened, Dave.

On my Topfield 2460 the blank guide has green text at the bottom right-hand corner that is cut off at the end. It says "Make registration cod...". I assume it refers to IceTV and why the guide is blank but I would love to know for sure what the rest of the text actually says - or even if anyone else can see it and have they ever seen it before?
My was saying 'cooking' in green at one stage - which it certainly wasn't (it wasn't even working).

Is there any indication when the server will be working again?
