Got an email this morning from Paypal, asking to submit the a copy of a police report.  Speaking with them on the phone, they have asked that I submit to the NSW police a fraud claim and send a copy of the document to them.  Anyone else got the same?

After escalating on the phone Paypal have stated they are going to refund the money.

Got the same email and just got off the phone with them,   they had icetv as subscription service not a box.  After getting the service rep on the icetv website he has reopened the case.  He identified that skippa was indeed a piece of hardware e needed to confirm that the Skippa was the item purchased.

Nope. At least I havent :(

I got nothing from IceTV, so followed up and apparently they are held up in customs.  I followed the lead from a few others and pulled the pin.

Not sure what you mean by the first line. 

However to reinforce what i said (and have personally said to the chairman of icetv and customer support directly), don't care if i don't get the device for a few more months, set expectations appropriately.  Product delays, changing industry standards, surprise bugs, supplier issues are all too common so we all understand.  (well a most of us :) )

The delay was actually a positive for me for a few hundred bucks i got to experiment and resurrect my dead Tivo's. 

That's great, Forum management is tough but i am sure once we all get the device the Whirlpool guys will give Skippa the appropriate space.  We all are hoping to get behind an Aussie product.

Yeah it did but those last minute Friday emails have committed before and been "adjusted" later. 

July 24 email states due to greater demand for skippa caused delays and orders will be fulfilled mid August
July 31 email states everything was rectified and all preorders will be fulfilled by end of August. 
And it goes on....

Sorry but at this stage would rather an up front statement around we're sorry, doing our best and you'll get it as soon as possible. Any other messages or commitment coming from IceTV at the moment just do not carry any weight. 

Looking for to getting to play and hoping they have produced a world class product, just very disappointed in their treatment of customers.

Certainly good news that it hasn't had another slip, but to say "remains on schedule" and "on track" is a bit rude when its some 2 months later!?

Not to mention that there is no confirmed date for the second half of the preorders...

Should we place bets?   ;)  Tomorrow is two weeks from Heinz' email and still no confirmed sightings of Skippa in the wild across multiple forums.

How are you people finding out where you are in the queue? I sent an e-mail to IceTV in reply to today's e-mail and haven't heard anything. I'd love to know where I stand.

I need this thing as soon as I can get it. I gave away my other PVR a month ago in anticipation of Skippa arriving and my TiVo is playing up something shocking.

I emailed icetv earlier and they replied back saying they "didn't have access to the logistics system" so they couldn't see where i was in the queue.   so i would be interested as well partial fulfillment worries me a bit....

FMB i was in the same situation and bought a 1TB for both my dead tivo's and resurrected them.   There are plenty of good tutorials on the web and the process is pretty simple.  Ping me if you need some links.

if they only sold 280 units in the first month, could that mean that they haven't sold the first 1000 units yet?

bought mine on the first of June so would be interested in how many they sold the first week.

and i would predict several months after release the price will drop to come back to be competitive with the majority of pvr's out there.

Sorry to clarify I asked about the delays and how to go about cancelling if I wish and they cancelled the order.   I think it will be a great product and ordered it as soon as the orders opened.
With the continued delays with cryptic reasons provided I was going through the thought process about reviewing the pvr market again as xmas nears.  As I said above IceTV just accelerated that process.
Great to see a company like IceTV bringing a new product to this space.  Hope your patience is rewarded and it is a great PVR.

I am sick of watching live tv, so with the extra delay today I decided to resurrect my dead TiVo which was pretty easy and cancelled the Skippa order.  They promptly did so with no drama.
