Missing info in remote web interface

I use the ICETV remote web interface merely as a web program guide. I've noticed there is information available in the downloaded ICE epg data which is not available in ICETV remote. E.g. the list of actors, the director, and the year of production for movies are available in the guide data (and therefore on my Topfield 5000) but this data is not displayed in the ICETV remote web pages. Can this be added please? I.e. ensure that all information available in the guide is available in web remote?

I can't imagine any reason why this data is not available other than being a technical oversight when the web remote pages were implemented?

It certainly can be added, and has been.

We've been using our I Watch This site (iwatchthis.com.au) as a test bed for all kinds of new things. As a result, it does a lot that the icetv.com.au/remote site doesn't.

It does all the normal IceTV Remote record scheduling plus a lot more, including listing the most popular recordings and far more streamlined ways to manage your series recordings. We've also recently introduced recommendations: Simply schedule some recordings or list some shows as favourites and we'll suggest other TV shows you may be interested in.

My favourite I Watch This feature is probably Most Popular New Series: http://iwatchthis.com.au/mostpopular/new_series/1

That lists the most recorded series that have been added in the last few months (so old but popular shows aren't shown). Great way to find out about new TV shows.

Oh you are right. When http://iwatchthis.com.au/ was first promoted here it looked exactly the same guide interface, albeit with a bit of advertising framed down the side so I promptly ignored it. So it now looks like that even just the guide data has been developed beyond icetv remote. Then why bother even hosting the remote site anymore? What's the point of it?

The idea was that we'd be able to test some new things without disrupting the existing Remote users. We're definitely going to be making some positive changes to the Remote web and Remote mobile sites soon.
