Starting on the 2nd (didn't try on the 1st) I can no longer change channels using the EPG.
When I try, the screen freezes on the current channel, and the EPG no longer displays.
Changing channels works via the up/down channel buttons on the remote.

Recording is still working.

It needs a reboot to get the EPG back, but the issue returns if I try changing channels again.

It was working normally before new years day.

Has anyone else run into this?

The most common cause of hardware problems on a T4 is failure of the voltage regulators that feed the tuners. They can overheat, and break down the thermal cement that attaches their heat sinks. The breakdown products of the thermal cement can etch away printed circuit board tracks under and near the voltage regulators, causing failures of other parts of the PVR, not just the tuners that the regulators supply.

If that is the problem, further use of the T4 can continue the damage process.

The damage is often repairable, and if the heat sinks are replaced by a more appropriate arrangement, this T4 problem can be more-or-less made to go away, provided any damage to the PC bpard can be fixed.

The only place I know of that does Beyonwiz hardware repairs is Nasa Electronics in Sydney (https://www.nasaelectronics.com.au/). They can probably advise you about whether it's likely to be a hardware problem, and whether you should get the heat sinks replaced with a better arrangement, even if they're not causing problems yet.

It's also generally a good idea to change the T4's fan settings so that the fan runs in standby - almost everything in a T4 (and other Beyonwizes) is running in standby, except for the A/V output and the HDD (if not recording).

Just an update.

Doing a factory reset has sorted out the problem, but I will check the voltage regulator heat sinks just in case.
