Then I don't think that this show has anything to do with school children performing.

A better description of the show would be:

While the show might be a "new" entertainment format ... it didn't last very long. "Rested" (the new fancy term for - cancelled) after S2.

OK. Not sure what that is. There's a 2010 Disney "Teen" movie called Starstruck, a 2021 BBC series (3 seasons) of the same name that has been shown on the ABC. Neither of these were about school children though.

But wait, there's an 1982 Australian film also called Starstruck, where the plot concerns two teenagers trying to break into the music industry.

Oh well, whatever.
