Daniel Hall at IceTV

Quote from: raymondjpg on January 17, 2025, 09:35:04 AMThanks again. If you can see the keyword recording in the Manage Series page, and keyword recordings set in My Week, then it would appear to be working.

If Daniel Hall doesn't come up with a solution I'll raise a support ticket. I suspect the recorder account needs to be reset somehow at the server end. I really want to avoid an IceBox reset at my end!

Ok, it looks like there was an old entry that had the same name but was scheduled to be deleted, but for some reason it was not cleaned up, I manually cleaned this entry up and then was able to set the keyword via the website for you.

I can also see that timers have been scheduled for it as expected as well.
Regards,

Daniel.

Thanks Daniel! That all looks to be working fine now.

I assume that the timers are created by TVHeadend. TVHeadend has been adapted by @Daniel Hall to work with IceTV. Some functions of TVHeadend have been disabled to make the IceBox experience easier to navigate, and this may have inadvertently "disabled" recording of timers created by the search function.

Aside: Never used the search based timers with the Beyonwiz; I found it much easier to use the SmartEPG vu+ to create search based timers.

I don't use them much for either BW or IceBox, but in the case of Tour Down Under, and probably some other cycling classics, there really isn't any other reliable option. The Tour Down Under Highlights packages are marked as repeats, which in my view is a mistake, but even if they weren't, selecting them as a series recording results in all broadcasts of the Tour, including full stages, to be scheduled.

With the BW PVRs there are other ways around selecting just the highlights packages, with sutotimers set for certain rimes of day only. If the highlights packages are broadcast on a different channel then that distinction can also be made either with autotimers or IceTV, but that is fraught with the distinct possibility that the network may change channels for the broadcasts mid-stream. IceTV's keyword recording feature comes into its own for such situations.

Well, nothing has recorded, so either I have no idea what I'm doing or it is broken.

Mine is working fine now. Try clicking on "Create Keyword Recording or Favourite" immediately under the search box on a TV Guide page, and take it from there.

You then search for matches by clicking on "PREVIEW KEYWORD" at the bottom of that page, and even if there are none, you can click on a link to create the Keyword Recording or Favourite.

Once created you should see them at the top of the Manage Series page.

OK, I misunderstood what you were trying to do. I had assumed you were trying to do the search on the IceBox itself rather than using IceTV interface.

I have not tried that way, but assume that it will work. It no longer works on the IceBox itself as far as I can deterine.
