Disable or change dimming

Is there any way of disabling the dimming; or at the very least extending the time interval?

Yes, it's in the Screensaver settings.  I've set mine to show the Google Earth view instead of just dimming (that way there's a constantly changing image, so no risk of screen burn-in).

Unfortunately, I'm not at home now, to go through the Kodi settings to provide more information.

So... to fix the dimming.

Go to Settings -> Interface -> Screensaver

By default, the Screensaver mode is set to "Dim".  If you click on it, you can get more "modes" - mine is set to "Google Earth".

You can also change the Wait time, increasing it (or decreasing it) from the default of 3 min.
