For the last couple of weeks (Inc 28th Nov) the timing has started nearly 40min prior to the episode actually starting. As result lost part of the episodes.

Many thanks for your note regarding Chicago Fire.

Unfortunately, being the last program of the evening, these shows can run early or late depending on what has been scheduled during Prime Time such as live Cricket or the live Cricket Talk shows. Around 5.30pm we undertake our final check of the evening where durations and late program changes are updated. However, due to the nature of live TV or advertising commitments by the broadcasters, this information is not always available.

The best way to overcome this is to record the show before and fast forward through it so if it ends early, you won't miss the start of the show you are recording.

Have a lovely day,

...or the show following.  It sounds a bodge but there is absolutely nothing we can do if the channel/network don't publish the late start. It's been a bugbear for all TV watchers for years, hence even having to put any padding on the end of a show, but it seems the relevant broadcast authority (ACMA) hasn't the appetite to mess with the commercial TV channels. We recommend 20  minutes which usually catches everything but there will always be exceptions that are impossible to forecast.

I use 5 min pre- and 25 min post-padding, and that works almost all the time, but as MD says, there is no guarantee.
