Can I schedule to record part of a programme?

I don't want to record a 3 hour long news programme as it keeps repeating the same stuff over and over.

What device are you using?

You could try doing a manual timer on the device, with shortened duration and a non-standard name so that IceTV will not try and correct the timer length. You could call the timer something like "My News on SBS".
