When you install T3 firmware that supports IceTV, the IceTV startup screen offers a trial subscription connection to IceTV. If you don't start using IceTV at that point, and change your mind, you can get to the same screen with the trial subscription from the T3's IceTV config menus.

It appears that anyone can get a 3-month trial subscription for any device(s).

I've also just received an email announcement from IceTV to say that they're now selling T3s. They've also got a special going until 31 Oct that bundles a WiFi dongle, USB tuner and "lifetime" subscription (the usual lifetime of the product or 5 years, whichever is less) for $249.
