Nine Network has axed two of its high-profile news and current affairs programs, Nightline and Sunday, in dramatic changes to its line-up announced today.

In a statement, Nine said today the Sunday program would close on Sunday, August 3, and be replaced by a weekly hour-long news bulletin on Sundays from 8am.

Nine's late-night news program, Nightline, will finish tonight.

Trust Nine to axe the only half credible two shows they produce. Thanks for the tip, can you tell me what publication that press release came from? Cheers.

They probably did that so they can pay for the Aussie trash slut show "Laddette to Lady" (yes, they have put a call out for slutty Aussie chicks to take part in an Aussie version FFS), and to buy "Big Brother" (yes, NineMSN trashed all the criticism of the show, suggesting it is part of pop-culture and should not be bagged like everyone has done).
Nein have really lost the plot, they have no regard for their original core audience any more, people with a bit more maturity.    Don't the idiots realise that making trashy shows might rope in a couple of kids occassionally, but kids tend to download and tend to watch TV less these days, it is a dwindling audience...
