IceTV EPG Content / The Dead Zone returns to Nine
January 05, 2009, 01:23:04 PM

I noticed in an online TV guide (www.yourtv.com.au) that the 6th (and final) season of "The Dead Zone" returns to our screens.  The first episode, titled "Heritage", starts at midnight on Thursday, 8th Jan 2009.

I know you have to be cafeful about where you source your guide data for Channel 9 but I thought I'd pass this on just in case...

Region:  Melbourne (maybe others?)

Next Thursday (4-Dec-2008) Channel Seven is showing the same Heroes episode (The Eclipse: Part 1) at 10:30pm on 7SD and then 11:30pm on 7HD.  The 11:30pm episode is flagged as a REPEAT.  I've got my Ice Interactive set up to only record first run episodes on 7HD so its not picking it up.

I think in this case the episode should not be considered a repeat if it was first run on the same day and a different channel.

What do others think?

NOTE:  I've only checked this for the Melbourne region.

According to Ten's own website the lineup is now:

9:40pm  NCIS
10:40pm Californication
11:20pm  The Office

I've only checked this for Melbourne but I would guess other states are the same.

IceTV EPG Content / Torchwood on Ten HD
August 28, 2008, 01:54:18 PM

On the IceGuide (and yourtv.com.au) "Torchwood" is listed to begin at 11:35pm on Monday (1-Sep-2008).  However on Ten's own website (www.ten.com.au) its listed to begin at 10:30pm.

I'm not sure who's correct but its something you Ice Guys might want to keep an eye on.

NOTE:  I've only checked this for the Melbourne region, but it may be the same for others as well.

The Ice EPG seems to be missing "Invasion" which is on 9HD on Tuesday nights at 11:30pm.  It was correct this week but appears to be missing next week.  This is for Melbourne.

I notice the IceGuide is not yet reflecting the new ch 7 lineup for Sunday night which includes the new series "Ugly Betty" and the new season of "Grey's Anatomy".  There's also a new talent show hosted by Red Symonds as well.

Windows Media Center / PIMP Enhancement suggestion
December 27, 2006, 07:01:13 AM
Hi Guys,

In the PIMP MCE Client there's an option to add padding to the beginning and end of a recording.  This is a great idea but it applies to all recordings that are made.

I think it would be even better if you could do this on a recording by recording basis.

Personally I like to give recordings only about 5 or 10 minutes of post-padding during prime-time, but recordings late at night I like to give 30 to 60 minutes of post-padding.

On the weekend I just happened to check for firmware on my old Netgear IceBox and noticed a new upgrade available.  I downloaded and flashed it but didn't really notice anything new.

I was hoping it would be for the much anticipated "PIMP for Toppy"

Any know what went into it?

Topfield / New Toppy Beta firmware
February 07, 2006, 02:08:29 PM
Hi Guys,

On Topfield's website there is a new January '06 beta firmware: http://www.topfield-australia.com.au/downloads/TF5000PVRT/BETA_TF5000PVRt-Aus-TOPFIELD-SYS_416-2006Jan23.zip

It reports to fix an EPG bug.  Will this benefit (or otherwise) those of use theat use the IceEPG?  If so how?

Does it perhaps finally fix the bug whereby the EPG displays blank entries...particularly towards the end of the week?

Topfield / Program Toppy from Mobile or Browser
November 13, 2005, 03:52:01 PM
I read an article in this weekend's Fin Review (12-13 Nov 2005) that
Quote...IceTV plans to launch technology in coming weeks that will let owners program their digital video recorders (DVRs) from mobile phones or internet browsers

Are you able to provide more information about this.  In particular will it be available for the Toppy?

Topfield / Daylight savings time
October 30, 2005, 11:23:26 AM
Since daylight savings started (in Victoria) my Ice EPG is now one hour out on all programmes.  I've got my Toppy set to Automatic time with an 11 hour time offset (was 10 hours prior to DST).

Any help to fix this would be appreciated

XMLTV (General) / Toshiba HD PVR (HDD-J35)
August 12, 2005, 01:10:11 PM
Will the IceGuide ever be available for the Toshiba HD PVR?

I'm guessing it would be hard as it has no USB port and no ability to execute 3rd party applications on it like the Toppy PVR does.

Topfield / IceBox Enhancement Wishlist
August 03, 2005, 01:30:22 PM
I thought I'd start up a new thread where IceBox owners (or those thinking of becomng an owner) can post their ideas for enhancements or improvements to the unit.

I'll repeat mine from the other thread and add a few more.  Someone from Ice might like to comment as to whether or not they are feasible.

1.  Ability to transfer bigger files than 2Mb
2.  Support for WPA and WPA2 security
3.  Ability to do a Toppy firmware upgrade where it fetches the firmware from the Ice server
4.  Ability to add timer programmes to the Toppy via the web interface.  It would be cool to be able to add a timer via the internet from work.  This would need some added security though, like a password to get into the IceBox menu
5.  View EPG on Web Interface
6.  Ability to set up timers automatically for a particular TV show.  eg.  Enter "Doctor Who" and it will automatically record all TV programmes with that name.

Topfield / Netgear WGT634U
July 15, 2005, 12:59:40 PM
Anyone here using the Netgear WGT634U to update their IceGuide without the need of a PC?

I'd like to hear what you think of it as I'm considering getting one.

Thanks...

Topfield / ABC2's Now & Next info missing
May 05, 2005, 01:27:28 PM
As I understand it the IceGuide is not yet available for the ABC2 channel (and the SBS News channel).  That's fine but after I installed the IceGuide for my Toppy I don't even get the "Now and Next" info for ABC2.

Does the IceGuide completely block "Now and Next" on all channels?  Is there a way to allow it on channels not supported by the IceGuide?

I find it a bit frustruating not knowing what the current show is on ABC2 when I channel surf

Hope there's an easy solution....
