We are in final stages of development of a wireless bridge which lets the Toppy retrieve IceGuide directly from our server, so if you have a home WLAN the PC/Mac issue becomes irrelevant.

Anyone interested in beta testing the WLAN bridge should email support@icetv.com.au. Cost of the device will be less than $200 and software for the device and Toppy will be provided free.

Hey, this is great news and I'd sign up in a second... but now I'm waiting for the new Masterpiece Topfield!

Wow -- somehow the feature got turned off in the forum settings (the version of the forum software we're using isn't fully released yet, but hopefully soon).  I've enabled the feature just now, so you should see a new Search button at the top, between "Help" and "Members".

The Topfield only has a slave USB port and unfortunately cannot drive a wireless USB dongle. We are however developing just such a device that can do this.

I'm going to feel really, really stupid if it's right in front of me, but the "HELP" page says across the top you will see "HOME", "HELP", "SEARCH"... nope, no search. I hate posting stuff someone has already answered.

Anyone tried connecting a wireless USB bridge to the toppy? Would it be seen by my PC (mac)?

The way the commercial channels chop and change their programming would necessitate daily updates, at least. And I don't want to run cables or have to remember to connect all the time.

Any plans for a mac version? VPC is a stopgap, I get concerned devlopers will use it as an excuse not to develop for Mac.
