Resetting the app seemed to cleanup the missing info.

i am also irritated by the new apps bugs.

The times on 'tv guide' on the app are all over the place and skip huge chunks of time (eg sunday, all channels, scroll back from 6pm and it goes back to 2.30pm)

Me too, and other issues. I used to use the app almost exclusively to program, now it's useless.

Smart Recording on iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad / Guide Refresh
December 25, 2010, 11:58:15 AM
Wen I go the the TV Guide and start scrolling down the page after about 10 seconds or so the page refreshes and puts me back at the top. This is really annoying.

I noticed Dr Who listed under new shows and scheduled to record as per previously entered series recording. But under TV Guide there is no sign of it at all. It's also not under My Week. Everything is OK on the website.

I looked further and noticed no guide information for ABC 1, ABC 2, all SBS channels for Saturday or Sunday this week.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Lost - Wednesday 31

I just checked the timer setup and it was record all on HD only including repeats, I must have adjusted it on another occasions because of unwelcome repeat flags. It did record the recap. So it must have missed the finale for some other reason - timer conflict I'd say. Luckily it can be procured more easily elsewhere I guess.

Great, so because I was recording first runs on HD I've missed the finale. Thanks guys, really well done.

I've now run into a problem on Monday nights with 3 things on at 8:30pm.

ABC reruns Good Game later in the week - I'm sure I used to be able to record these repeats to cure scheduling conflicts by choosing the particular channel that the mid week repeat would screen on. Which was usually ABC2 or something. Now you only get a Network selector, not a channel selector.

I thought I would get around this by making a keyword recording for '"Good Game" repeat' however it seems the first description line is not included in the search.

I have missed something vital? It seems this situation used to be fixable and now is not.

What we need is...
-keyword search to include all text in the title etc
-series record with repeat only as an option

I did not notice this until after the fact, so missed it.  >:(

Doctor Who ‘Planet Of The Ood’

Yes, we've had one with the Ood before, but this one has Tate in it. Can't be a repeat.

This is a pain, as I have interactive set to record first runs only.

Hi,

I wondering if anyone from Ice can confirm how Interactive should manage timers where a change in scheduling affects a timer?
On my Beyonwiz DP-P1, I had a timer created from a series recording. It appears the schedule changed and the episode was pulled, however the timer remained and the replacement show was recorded.

Will Interactive adjust when shows are pulled, start times change etc, or once the timer has been sent to the device, is that it?

Cheers,

Bruce

I've had a number of instances of this now. The scheduled series recording becomes set for the replacement show/s that is now visible in the Interactive Guide. The timer is set under the new name both online and on Beyonwiz. So if the guide knows my show is not on, why does it set a timer on interactive to record the replacement? I'm wondering if the timer is shunted to the Beyonwiz before the change, then the guide changes, maybe the timer is shunted back to Interactive. How else could it end up as a timer on interactive that I never set? The timer is specified by name not time.

Frankly I don't know why the timers are shunted through to the beyonwiz so far ahead of recording time, more likely to encounter a scheduling change I would have thought - how about a preference we can set?

Sorry Daniel, despite my grumbling I do see your side as well. I certainly did not mean to imply that you are gouging Mac subscribers or that you should introduce a tier pricing scheme. Just making an example, perhaps not very well. I like your guide and feel it is good value, or I would not have subscribed. I certainly look forward to the day when I might own a bit of equipment that can take advantage of all the great new work you are doing, in the meantime I shall continue to be grateful for Nathan's generosity, without which I would not be enjoying your guide.

1) Development cost - ... it is definitely a few man-weeks to do properly.

2) Financial Risk - ... we would be compelled to use the USB code that third parties have written, ..... we may be held responsible...

For IceTV to develop a Topfield loader for the Mac we would need to know that the potential gain in subscriptions is enough to offset the development costs and the financial risks to us, I would suggest that you organise all the Topfield/Mac owners that you know to send an email to support@icetv.com.au with a request for a native loader and if the demand is great enough I will take it up with management and see what happens...

On the positive side you are at least no longer claiming that you have any intention of developing the loader for Mac. On the negative side I still recall being told over a year ago that it was.

Is it not just a little ironic that..

1. The Mac user base may not be worth spending the moderate development costs, but you have no problem asking those users to pay you several hundred dollars more than you ask of a Windows user, to buy your router based solution. You also have no problem asking us to pay the same fees as Windows subscribers, despite the lower level of support.

2. You don't want to risk damaging our Toppies using lethal third party code, but are content that in not offering it we will use it anyway if we don't pay extra for your router. I'm not aware of any software vendor that takes responsibility for damaging equipment, I'm very used to seeing a big waiver on the install screen and would happily admonish you of that responsibility. I've been using Nathan's solution for over a year and it has not cooked my Toppy yet. I'm sure not all of us want to sue the pants of you.

As a paying customer it would be nice to see some of that going towards developing the mac version of this software. I've waited patiently since Nathan first made me aware of the fact he had provided you with the code, well before this thread was started - nearly a year now. At that time I was assured it was happening (see below), then it just seems to be pushed aside by every bright shiny project requiring your attention. I rely on this software to get the guide data into my Toppy, solely through Nathan's generosity. Is there any intention of developing this?

Yes, Nathan has offered his code for us to embelish.  It is on our TODO list and we hope to have something with scheduled guide updates in the next couple of weeks.

Without WPA support I won't be using ICE...

Likewise. Far too many compromises on the current wireless product.

QuoteI've discussed with our engineers whether the other ethernet ports could be used to connect other devices, and the answer is that it can't be done with the present firmware and the cost of adding this fucntionality is too great to make it viable at this time.

Best regards,

Peter

Thats's a real shame, as I wanted to do the same thing. I don't really want to buy a bridge for each. That seems a great waste of money - and yet another powerpoint.

Is it true that this bridge (once flashed) does not support WPA? I currently run a hidden WPA network. Would I have to downgrade my network to connect this bridge?
