As someone who has been a customer and lost out I can appreciate how you may feel but the reality is it is what it is. Having considered the alternative I'm still very happy that the EPG is continuing and I will be subscribing.

I'm definitely nervous about all the talk about overheating of the Skippa. Apart from the clock stopping which hasn't re-manifested itself since the firmware upgrade I'm pretty happy with performance to date. It's a hugely better interface than my old Topfields and I am hoping it continues to run. Appreciate the support that's proposed by the community here even though I hope that I don't need it.

Thanks!

My understanding is that this is a new payment gateway and that any renewals are dead. I think you will have to start a new payment process.

Had another look just now and that program is available again. I have a lot of media on a NAS and I know it has to be refreshed sometimes to pick up new folders and files but haven't seen any options like that on Skippa.

SKIPPA / Re: Clock Display Not Changing

My experience with the clock stopping was that it prevented my recordings happening. That said I've noticed no instances since the firmware update last week.

So last night my wife and I sat down in the lounge to watch a program I'd recorded Sunday night on the Skippa in the other room. Only problem was when I loaded up the Skippa DLNA feed on my TV that program wasn't on the list. I know it was recorded as I saw it on there earlier. Anyone else noticed missing programs on DLNA?

SKIPPA / Re: skippa & paypal claims

Following the crowd here I've lodged a claim with PayPal tonight now waiting to see what happens. I did receive my Skippa but not sure whether that is a good or a bad thing in the long run.

It's disappointing reading the negative comments showing up now there is a future for the EPG. As one who contemplated the future without it I'm pretty happy that IceTV is still around. Sad to be financially disadvantaged? Certainly. But, lesser of two evils in my case. Keep up the great work IceTV people and hopefully we'll soon forget the sad times.

Just read about the resurrection. Really glad I don't have to tell my wife about my "brick". Thanks Dave!

No my auto renewal was turned off when my Skippa was coming. Had to extend it a couple of times towards the end for an additional month on month to cover the shipping delays.

SKIPPA / What is my best option now?
October 15, 2015, 10:07:09 PM
Ok so I've adjusted to the fact that ICE TV is gone but what I'm not sure about is what should I do next.

I Have:
2 x Topfield TF7100HDPVRt boxes (1 x 320 GB and 1 x 500GB)
1 Skippa (only very slightly used.

I see a lot of talk about Beyonwiz and I know Topfield still has models. Should I stick to my existing Topfields even though these don't have any DLNA ability which I was really looking forward to with the Skippa or should I possibly consider another device? I really don't want to throw another bundle of cash at this if I can avoid it.

Is there any service that approaches the ability of ICE TV to curate the programs and organise my recording schedule for me or am I stuck with a full manual approach regardless of what ever devices I select?

Help!

I must have missed that.

Contemplating the change in my viewing habits tonight as life without Ice TV sinks in.

Got to replace the new Skippa with the old Topfield. Actually read the TV guide now and watch out for programs I want and make sure I keep the times/dates in step with airtimes. Keep an eye out for when those new programs are airing.

It's been so long I wonder if I remember how the Topfield uses the FTA guide.

I wish there was an affordable service that managed all this stuff for me. Oh, right...
