Hi Craig,

We update the guide constantly throughout the day, however the broadcasters have variable advertising slots that vary the length of shows making it impossible to predict exact show times. This is why padding is crucial in Australia for Free to air TV. We recommend 3 minutes pre and 20-30 minutes post padding to cover this variation.

Leon

Beyonwiz / Re: Device Expiry
March 04, 2015, 09:15:44 AM
Hi A_G

Prl is correct,

We have 2 different types of subscriptions:

- 'Regular Subscriptions', which support up to 5 devices. (this is the date shown under your account page.)
- 'Device Subscriptions', which only support 1 device per subscription, and is linked to that device itself. (this is the date shown next to that device under the My Recorders page.)

You are able to have a combination of the two, offering more flexibility, as many of our customers do.

The renewal notice you received is for the device itself. If you also have a Regular Subscription (with less than 5 devices currently attached to it) when the device subscription lapses, it will automatically fall under the umbrella of the Regular Subscription. (It's seamless and no timers will be lost)

Cheers,
Leon

Thanks,

Yes the WIFI repeater may not be getting a strong enough signal, EoP would be a great solution (just make sure that it is connected directly to the wall socket and not on a power board).

An alternative possiblity would be to setup a manual IP address to prevent the DHCP acquisition from timing out:

Menu -> Settings -> Installation -> System -> Internet Setting -> Configure WIFI -> Make sure WIFI setting is correct -> Apply -> Configure WIFI(LAN) -> Change DHCP to Manual -> Save / Apply.

This will now tell the Humax to connect to the router with this address only, and should prevent any time-out issues related to network latency.

Hey Ubermensch,

Glad to hear it's working again -

That error message actually indicates that the Humax is not connected to the internet, and thus can't access IceTV. This can be either because the router's internet connection has dropped out, or most likely the connection between the Humax and the router has dropped out.

Sometimes the WIFI connection can drop out if the router is rebooted, or the Humax fails to aquire an IP address from the router in time and times out - this is usually due to a weak connection between the Humax and the router. Often moving the Dongle to the front of the Humax helps too.

Topfield / Re: Cant access acount on 2400

Hi Greg,

The Topfield 2400's don't like the '@' symbol for the UserID,

You can log into your account by following this link:

https://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/webmembers.cgi?op=editDetail

and update your UserID, for convenience it's easiest to just remove the '@' symbol and everything after it, so that your new UserID is simply the first part of your email address.

Then please set the new UserID on the Topfield and it should connect fine from there.

Yep, it sounds like the dongle has failed unfortunately..

The last thing you could try is to do a factory reset just in case,

- Go to 'Menu > Settings > Installation'
- Enter the default password of 0000  (unless you have changed the STB Password in Parental Control)
- Select Factory Default and press OK.
- Do NOT tick 'Format HDD'. (unless you don't mind losing your present recordings, and wish to clean the HDD)
- Select Yes and press OK.
- Enter the default password of 0000  (unless you have changed the STB Password in Parental Control)
- After the Humax restarts you will see the setup wizard.

If after completing the factory reset and setup wizard it is still rebooting when having the dongle plugged in, it's almost certainly the dongle itself that is causing the issue and would need to be replaced.

Thanks for your reply Dave,

Could you please try moving the Dongle to a different port - ie. to the front if it is in the back and let me know if it is still rebooting?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for contacting IceTV,

Rebooting can be caused by a software bug or a hardware fault. There can also be other causes like the following:

- Too many files on the HDD will make it reboot all the time.  e.g. If you copy  2000 music files on to the HDD it will cause rebooting.

- Can be caused by having a USB drive plugged in

- Can be caused by having PowerDVD or Twonky Media Server running on a networked PC or server.

Please could you try turning Power Saving in Standby to On:

- Go to 'Menu > Settings > System > Power Management'
- Set 'Power Saving in Standby' = ON

Do you have the latest firmware version installed?
