IceTV EPG Content / Inconsistencies in New Shows Listings
September 22, 2010, 02:59:22 PM
There seem to be quite a few inconsistencies between the TV Guide and the New Shows listings at present...

New Shows lists "Top Gear Australia" as "Coming soon".
According to the TV Guide it's called "Top Gear" (no differentiation from the UK version) and it starts at 7:30pm on Tuesday 28th September.  The TV Guide listing is also missing the New Shows star next to the entry.

Most of the 7mate/GEM shows are now appearing in the New Shows list, but none of them have yet made it onto the TV Guide...

Aside from that, I'd like to draw your attention to the following:
"Weeds" is listed in New Shows as "Coming Soon".  The start date is now known - 10pm on Wed 29th September on GEM.
"Secret Diary of a Call Girl" will be following it at 10:30pm and this is also a new series.  There is no mention of this show anywhere on the IceTV site.

...  We're now down to less than a week before the new channels begin broadcasting, yet none of their new shows are appearing in the guide because Ice has reverted to listing only the existing HD broadcasts (which are just simulcasts of the SD channels anyway).

My vote would go to listing the programming for 7mate and GEM, rather than 7HD and 9HD.
I suspect that IceTV doesn't have information they can use for the GEM and 7mate guides yet. It normally takes a couple of weeks for them to get enough information into their system to start producing guides. And after the weekend, Seven and Nine HD won't be simulcasts of the SD channels. They won't exist.
OzTam need 8 weeks notice to include the new channels in the ratings reports, but the TV Guide information for these channels is already available and has been since last week.  You can find them here:

This is beginning to be a major headache.  We're now down to less than a week before the new channels begin broadcasting, yet none of their new shows are appearing in the guide because Ice has reverted to listing only the existing HD broadcasts (which are just simulcasts of the SD channels anyway).

IceTV EPG Content / Wipeout - 6:30pm Wednesdays on Go!
September 10, 2010, 12:47:47 PM
The guide currently shows this as being a 120min new episode.

It is actually a repeated episode at 6:30pm, followed by a new episode at 7:30pm.

IceTV EPG Content / Top Gear - Tues 17th August
August 11, 2010, 01:43:13 PM
TV Tonight are reporting that Nein will be breaking their run of new episodes with a repeat of the Botswana Special, not the new episode as previously advertise.  IceTV might want to confirm and change the EpGuide if TV Tonight's information is correct.

And perhaps some political debate?

It is probably a good idea to screen the trilogy together, for those who hadn't pieced together the crossover.
Maybe.. but one show is going to have 3 million viewers or more, the other is going to have 3-400,000.  I know which one has Nein running scared.

From memory they showed all parts of the trilogy within a week of each other last time, though not necessarily back-to-back.  I think it was shown in sequence for CSI, but out of sequence for the other shows.

IceTV EPG Content / CSI Crossover Trilogy
July 20, 2010, 10:26:36 AM
Nein/Win are showing the CSI Crossover Trilogy on Sunday night - CSI: Miami (Bone Voyage) at 8:30, CSI: NY (Hammer Down) at 9:30 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (The Lost Girls) at 10:30.  They're all (incorrectly) marked as being new episodes.  They are all repeats.

Presumably they're doing the repeats to avoid wasting new content on a clash with the MasterChef grand final.

IceTV EPG Content / Top Gear - Tuesday 15th June
June 09, 2010, 04:28:04 PM
This show is marked as being "new" rather than a repeat.  The show itself is the second episode from series 11, which was first shown on SBS some time ago.  However, Nein have now bought the rights to the complete, uncut, BBC versions of the show - where previously SBS showed the cutdown international version.  Thus, the show probably does contain about 10% new content, though the other 90% has previously been shown.

Should this be marked as a new episode, or a repeat?

IceTV EPG Content / Top Gear - Tuesday March 30th
March 25, 2010, 04:37:00 PM
The episode scheduled for broadcast on 9/Win at 7:30pm is ‘Muscle Car Roadtrip from San Francisco to Utah / Star...’.  This is the 2nd episode from series 12, which has already been shown when SBS had the contract.  It should thus be marked as a repeat.  It's currently marked as a new episode.

IceTV EPG Content / CSI Miami
March 23, 2010, 03:40:07 PM
The guide currently shows the episode "One of Our Own" scheduled for 9:30pm on Win (Canberra) next Monday (29th March).  This is the last episode from series 4 and is thus a repeat.  It's currently marked as being a new episode.

** Note that TV Tonight are reporting that Nein/Win will continue showing new episodes of CSI Miami during the Easter non-ratings period.  This would indicate that the repeat currently scheduled may yet be replaced by a new episode ("Out of Time" - the first episode of series 8).  In either case, the IceTV guide needs to be updated.

The guide on the ABC website has the episode on Sunday on ABC2 not marked as a repeat but the screening the following Sunday on ABC1 is marked as a repeat so it looks like they intend to leave the first run on ABC2 with the repeat on ABC1.
In which case the IceTV guide needs to be updated to reflect this.. as it stands the ABC2 ep is marked as being the repeat.

The episode currently scheduled for Sunday night on ABC2 is marked as being a repeat.  With the cancellation of the Friday night episode on ABC1, this is actually the first run for this episode.  It's possible that the ABC might do some re-scheduling, to prevent ABC2 from being the first to air the new episodes, but they don't appear to have done so yet.
