I also found that once I made the changes to the Registry, I got Win7 updates again - all of 360MB to be exact. I hadn't been getting them ever since MS installed the GWX nag. I used the automated registry files in the article.

Having trouble accessing this link Dave.....

FWIW, all good on my Widget and XMLTV EPG feed here in Sydney. Hope that might help in locating the issue...Suggestion so far is that it's only the Wiz PVRs that are affected. My T2 Wiz is with BeyonWiz atm, awaiting replacement, so can't comment here.

SKIPPA / Re: Freezing causes and solutions?
December 29, 2015, 05:00:06 PM
If it's definitely an issue of failing some time AFTER it's been turned on, i.e. it takes a finite repeatable time after a cold start before it starts to play up, you could try what I did and mount a 40mm small fan inside the case directly pointing at the heat-sink. Just use double sided adhesive strip to fix it to the bottom of the case.

I took several photos of this mod, but as I on-sold my Skippa to another Forum member I don't have the option to take a photo of it for you. You can get the 12 volt supply from either the bare connector holes at the side of the PCB or hook them into the 12 volt line that supplied the HDD (it's there even though it doesn't use it).

Another source, Crikey.com.au, that I didn't mention in my OP, lists some of the onerous conditions the government placed on them to be allowed to continue broadcasting on FTA. It would appear that TV Sydney were not prepared to accept these.

We are still getting EPG data for a now non-existent TV Channel. From reading the article here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_Sydney
it is very unlikely they will come back on FTA - they are not even sure that they will come back as a streaming service.

I would have thought that it would be an easy matter for ICETV to have in place some automation wrt Repeats. A regular prime time program (that airs between 6pm to midnight) I would have thought would NEVER show a first run outside this time span and would thus automatically be a Repeat.

Ahh..., I see I still have a lot to learn about the T series Wizes. Just set up a recurring timer on ICETV for the 7.30 report and noticed that it now has timers set up to send right up till Tuesday next week, i.e. 7 days' worth of timers.

Edit - just checked the Wiz. It's now got timers set right up to Thursday next week. The ICETV web My Week only shows them set till Tuesday next week.

On this subject, how do the IceTV timers get their names. I currently have approx. 10 IceTV timers that are beyond my displayed epg. this includes In the Flesh and Fargo 9th Dec, The Fall 10th Dec, and Heston's Feasts 13th Dec. All of these have titles even though there is no epg for those days. However, I have two that have no title. One seems to be Live at the Apollo on 12th Dec and I cant work out what the other one is for. Does the epg data actually exist on the T3 for the days where the timers have titles and the program guide only shows 7 days or are those titles assigned in a different way?

What tends to happen is that I do a reboot and go back into the timers and the ones with a blank title that are in the next 7 days have been corrected. The IceTV log doesn't show that anything was updated. It is much too much of a coincidence that IceTV people are waiting for me to reboot my T3 and then quickly the timers just to mess with my mind. This happens pretty much once a week, which is how often I end up rebooting. Its possible that a GUI restart is fixing it too as that happens a lot with the up/down arrow issue.

I've been following this conversation - interesting...
I must be missing something, but how are you able to get timers from ICETV on your T2/3/4 more than 5 days ahead of the current date? It almost looks like you've set up an Auto timer in parallel with am ICETV timer. So far btw, I have not seen any of the blank title timers on my T2 if that helps.

Another FTA Guide I find very useful is the iOS/Android App called OzTV. It's generally spot on and very quickly updated.

Thanks John - you were right  :-[  :).

Hey John,

Tonight, Tuesday 24th Nov saw 3 programs as being Repeats when they I don't think they were. In addition to Catalyst on ABC 1, Insight and Dateline on SBS ONE were also marked as Repeats - missed recording them.

I've asked for this before, but can you set up a program/algorithm that automatically marks 1st showings as FIRST on the dates that these normally show? This should make is much less likely that you will incorrectly mark these as Repeats and will make for happier wives  :). I know that at this time of year, shows are often repeats of the best of the year's programs, or a collection of fragments of the best shows for the year, but I would not consider them repeats. Anyways, do whatever you must to keep FIRST and REPEATS accurately marked.

Catalyst tonight is marked as a Repeat - I think it's a new show - on Gluten.

A lot of people, who've paid either by PayPal or Credit Card, have put in a claim to PayPal or their Credit card provider and have recovered their money, even though the time span for both PayPal or Credit card had expired. More on this on this Forum elsewhere.
