After I made the stipulated manoeuvres on my Toppy 2400 after DLS changeover at around 9am on Sunday, I now find that many shows are no longer on my Reservation listing.

I am running the Feb 2012 public FW.

I have tried deleting and resending the timers twice now, but this has not made any difference.

The recording timers that do not come up on the My Week page do however show as greyed out icons on the PC Widget however.

They are also still on my My Programs listing and show up as normal with the info that it is to be recorded on my Toppy.

I tried just making a slight change and then saving it again, but this still doesn't make it appear as a queued icon on the My Week page.

It is as if the recording timer has been placed in a dormant state. This is how I found some of these missing recordings to be in.

Those that were in this state did come back after I set them to be active again, but many others are NOT in this state and cannot be made to send out a timer for.

So, maybe it needs a complete reset on all my programs in the My Programs list - only ICETV can do that though.

All in all a bit of a bad experience with DLS changeover this time - in fact by far the worst.

When we go back to summer DLS time in October, I won't be around to monitor/fix all of this - heaven help me then.

In contrast, my Windows Media Player running on ICETV handled the changeover without any hiccups or intervention whatsoever.

IceTV EPG Content / Four Corners tonight 27/3/12
March 27, 2012, 07:18:04 PM
Four Corners tonight 27/3/12 at 11.35pm is a Repeat. It's currently marked a a first show and a timer has been set on my PVR for it.

Since the migration of the server, I have had one or two phantom timers set on my Topfield PVR. Has anyone else seen this behaviour? The timers have been single events and not in any way related to any other programs I normally have timers set for.

IceTV EPG Content / The Straits on ABC 2 Friday 10:20pm
February 27, 2012, 12:53:42 PM
Is this episode not a Repeat of Thursday's episode on ABC 1?

My Toppy has this program set as a First Run series. Thursday's episode has also been set which is as it should be as I've set the Recording as a First Run only.

Since about 3pm today, I seem not to be getting any XMLTV EPG fetches. At least, the ICETV website shows no further fetches since then.

The JustEPG TAP can use this feed as one of its EPG sources from ICETV. This is a valuable option as it is an independent data source AND allows the Program Repeat flag to be used to mark Repeat Programs.

Using the Toppy's EPG data stream as the EPG data source instead, misses out on seeing the Repeat Flag and results in all Programs to be marked as new.

It appears that my Timers that have been sent out by ICETV have already been adjusted one hour back to allow for the change over of one hour forward this Sunday. Note that all Timers from Sunday onwards are early by one hour.

This is a welcome change and certainly a lot simpler (i.e. you have nothing to change at all) which is a far cry from the procedure outlined in the email sent our by ICETV today which advocates a complete fresh install which includes doing a rescan of services and re-instatement of all your preferences and passwords.

If a Factory reset is needed, you can do a SAVE settings before doing a restore to Fact defaults and then do a Restore of Saved settings after. This will clear the ICETV cache. All you need to do after this is a Resend of Timers from ICETV. the time should be automatically adjusted on the Toppy if you have had it set on AUTO with Daylight Savings ON. At least, this has how it worked for me last year at least.

Note btw, that the last Timer entry is NOT an ICETV one (it shows as WL which is a WeekLy timer - ICETV's are One Time timers) which is why it shows up as the correct starting time. BUT, the Toppy takes care of that itself during the changeover.

So, for locally set Timers, there's nothing that has to be done  :).

Is anyone else also finding that the ICETV iPhone App (Vs 2.6(27) is missing SBS program data today? Maybe earlier as well - I haven't used it for about a week.

IceTV EPG Content / Top Design Wednesday 13/7
July 10, 2011, 10:13:38 PM
Top Design Wednesday 13/7 has been programmed as a 30 min Timer. The show is 1 hr 15 min long.

However, on FTA EPG it is shown as only 25 min long. It is then followed by a blank entry with RPA starting at 9.15pm. I don't think Nein know where they're going either  ;).

Does anyone else have this issue/see these EPG entries? The show before, The Block, has been programmed as a 30 min Timer, but it's a full hour long show on the ICETV EPG as well as FTA EPG, so it seems to be kosher.

IceTV EPG Content / The Block on Wedneday 13/11
July 10, 2011, 06:23:29 PM
Although the Interactive WEB EPG and now the Widget show the correct duration for The Block on Wednesday this week for one hour, the Timer on my Toppy still has it as 30 min.

Just thought I'd flag this now in case it hadn't been noticed and no Timer updates were planned.

And yes, congrats too on the new Forum Format - what a change  :).

Next Monday's "The Kennedys" Part 1 on ABC2 is a Repeat of this Sunday's Part 1 on ABC1.

Could I once again ask that the change from Network to Service be considered (and implemented I hope ;)). Between the ABC and SBS there are still too many occassions where a Repeat sneaks through as a First run - Insight on SBS being a prime example.

IceTV subscribers will have received an email from ICETV giving instructions on how to cope with Daylight Saving Time change this Sunday.

The procedure they have given is unnecessarily complicated for the TMS range of Toppies involving having to completely reset all your settings on your Toppy.

There is a much simpler way to do the Daylight Savings changeover. (You will NOT loose your recordings)

The 7100+, 7160 and 24x0 Toppies have a facility to Save all your settings apart from the Timers/Reservations). See the end of this post for non-ICETV users.

Perform the following Steps:

First store all your settings:
       Menu>Installation>System Recovery>Store System Data

Now do a Factory Setting - it's on the same page as above step
       Menu>Installation>System Recovery>Factory Setting

After a Reboot go to the same Page and choose Recover System data, i.e.
      Menu>Installation>System Recovery>Recover System Data

Lastly, confirm that the correct Time is shown and adjust if necessary. If you have chosen Auto and Daylight Saving Time as ON, it should be correct. If not, adjust the Time Offset to suit.
       Menu>Settings>Time

That's it, EPG cache cleared and everything back to where it was apart from Timers.

If you are using ICETV, just go to the ICETV Website and do a Resend of all the Timers.

If you don't use ICETV, then Save your Timers with the TMSTimer TAP before doing any of the above steps.

The ICETV suggested procedure can be found here:

IceTV EPG Content / Ashes to Ashes is NOT a Repeat
January 13, 2011, 09:26:48 PM
According to the Widget, this new series is a Repeat. The TV Guide on the Web Guide shows that it is not a Repeat and this is actually the case.

Of recent times, I have often noticed that the Widget and Web Guides differ in this respect, the Widget being wrong most of the time. Could this be looked into please? I mostly set timers from the Widget so I'd like it to be correct.

I'm finding more and more that just having only a Network to chose from when setting Timers, rather than a Service, leads to many duplicate Timers being set.

For example, SBS are currently re-running some programs on SBS TWO that are not marked as Repeats. Sometimes, the Programs are repeats from way back, but are being re-run again on two Services on the same Network. So now you have the scenario of having repeats on repeats.

My suggestion is to switch to Services rather than Channels (Networks). By all means retain any Service/Network in the search for future Programs yet to be be aired, but have at least the option of specifying a Service rather than whole Network when setting a Timer for currently showing Programs.

I know you have the options of specifying a time slot, HD or SD preference (which these days is now totally superfluous btw  :)), but this does not solve the problem entirely.

The current Widget 2.12(23) shows ABC HD on the Widget itself, even though this service is listed as ABC 24 in the Widget Setup (i) panel.

Since the new web interface has come on line, I can no longer see the EPG fetches my devices make.

It keeps showing "You've never fetched the EPG", even though I've made 2 forced fetches - one on the Icebox2 and one on the xmltv guide.

Previously any fetches would be shown immediately after they were made.

IceTV EPG Content / The Gruen Transfer
July 18, 2010, 10:31:58 AM
I'm getting a 30 min timer sent through to my Toppy 2400 for The Gruen Transfer next Wednesday, even though the ICE GUIDE has it correctly shown as a 45 min show. It's normally only 30 min from memory which is why we maybe have this issue. Anyone else see this? I've deleted and resent it twice now with the the same result.

Just to be sure it's not an LCN issue, I have set my Account up as LCN21 for ABC1 - NOT LCN2.

Timer set for Apprentice next Tuesday has incorrcet duration. I had it set as an New Show for which Timers would be created as the shows come up. It did set a timer, but for only 60 min instead of 80 min. The Guide is fine, it shows 80 min duration. So, something went wrong on the way to my Toppy.

Just recently I had three recording in the one week made for Insight SBS. Two were repeats, one on Wed SBS ONE in the afteroon I think and one Wed on SBS Two @ 7.35pm - I think these were the repeat dates. The firts screening is on Tues at 7.30pm. Obviously the later screenings hadn't been marked as repeats which is why they got set.

I was wondering, if there were to be an option to choose One a Week, you could avoid this happening when the repeat programs weren't flagged as such. Usually, the first screening of any show is at the beginning of the week or the first in the week and the following ones repeats. Atm I'm getting around it by specifying a fixed time at 7.30pm which usually doesn't vary, but one of the repeat screenings is at 7.35pm - how accurate is the fixed time setting?
#39
There seems to be some confusion on the screening times for this show for next Sunday 16th May.

1. The Widget shows two episodes - one at 8.30pm and one at 9.30pm (here in Sydney.)

2. But, the Web Guide does not show the 9.30pm episode at all - instead it shows that time slot as  Australian families of Crime.

3. The ICETV Guide sent out to all the PVRs DOES show the double episodes.

4. But, the Timers sent out to the PVRs do NOT show a reservation/timer for the 9.30 pm episode.

Edits.

1.After refreshing the Widget this moring, it too now show NO second episode for Underbelly at 9.30pm. Do I take it that this is now corrcet and that the untitled second episode shown earlier was a guess by ICETV that this Sunday would again feature a double episode?

2. The PVR guide still shows the second episode at 9.30pm though - at least on my PVR - did a refresh just now 9.35 am Thursday.

IceTV EPG Content / Tonight's Insight is a Repeat
May 12, 2010, 08:17:52 PM
Hi Icefolks.

Just a heads up that Insight  - Anxiety showing on SBS tonight is a repeat from last Tuesday - maybe need to come up with some form of automatic repeat assignments as a few of these have slipped through in the past. In almost every case, the second show of the same program name in the week is always a repeat of the first one in the week.
