I have found the only way of capturing series that aren't on this week that I want to ensure will be captured is to go to the "Most Popular" list and choose "most popular this year" and setting a series recording from that (e.g "The 4400", e.g. "Terminator: TSCC").  However, in the absence of those shows being on at the moment I have no idea if this trick works or not yet.   In the widget my "My Guide" (or "My Shows" webpage) looks fine, with red filled series dots against the shows listed.   But that doesn't help if the show hasn't aired yet, or the show I want to record isn't all that popular :-)

The change has already been made, I have started seeing new motorsport timers appearing for next Sunday, yay!

There must be 2 versions of Nov15 f/w, because I still experienced "check your reservation", where as others are claiming this is fixed with the beta on Topfields site.
You should at least try it, it isn't any worse than the July f/w....

I notified Jai of this problem months ago, and he didn't seem to think it was one... grrr.

There are a couple of simple solutions to this:
1. don't base *anything* on the broadcaster time, thus have a manual GMT offset to setup for manual time.
2. GMT offsets world wide are, what, 30min resolution (maybe 15min?) so once the Toppy does the maths to calculate the offset, round to the nearest 15mins.

These are both very easy to implement, if only we had real communications to the Koreans rather than the Topfield Australia brick wall, where only the tiniest tid-bits of our complaints get through to the Koreans.
Heck, who here has tested the 15 Nov 2005 f/w?   It doesn't contain *any* of the fixes in it that the Brits got with their October f/w (such as GMT offset setting, auto-daylight savings etc etc).
Grr.....   Topfield-Australia, pick up your game.
Sorry for the rant but I spent about 3hours writing up what I thought were the important bugs that Topfield should sort out in about May or June this year, and not one of them have been seen to.

Topfield / Re: Record 1 channel and watch another

This is a topfield support q, not an ice one, but basically newer f/ws do away with having 2 independant tuners, and instead "pool" them so you don't have to worry about which is which...
If you aren't getting the chance to change channels during recording, it may be that you need to do a factory reset and rescan..

I wholeheartedly agree with djos on this, "SPORT: MotorSport" is a genre, not a program title.   So "Motor Sport: XXX" is a very good improvement, esp for those that set timers or record such shows, which have such great titles (for me on many Sundays) as:
"SPORT: MotorSport
  • SPORT: MotorSport
  • SPORT: MotorSport.rec"....
    Cheers.

I notice it for tonight too for Rove "perhaps his polar opposite – highly acclaimed actor"..
edit: I guess this may actually be ok, and I should be talking to John (TED Author) to correctly interpret these when he builds out the ascii file format..

Remember, the transport stream and original network id of all the channels in the one multiplex will be the same, the only difference is the service_id.   The good thing about this is that the standard Topfield API will give you access to the service_id of the channel, so a simple way of determining this service_id of 1 instead of 10 is to run my "infodisplay" TAP (the new version of it requires the use of TSR_commander to bring up the display), and then edit the ini file accordingly.
If I was at thome in front of the Toppy I could just rattle off the numbers for you, but if you run this tap and surf to 1 then 10, you should be able to see the service_id and therefore know which digit to alter in the ini file.

Yeah, will be a good idea to add all those fields, as I still find myself pulling up yourtv to see if something is a repeat, and to see the actors in a prog, so it would be great to see those fields in the feed.
