EyeTV / Re: EyeTV 3.1

I had access to port 443 for EyeTV blocked in Little Snitch for some reason. Deleting that rule fixed my problem.

If you rename the channels you lose the guide.

Bit later - Ignore above. I still can't get the guide - even after reassigning them to IceTV.

Windows Media Center / Re: Vista MCE Fiji Update

Er, could the ties between Nine and Microsoft (I'm presuming the Ninemsn site indicates a tie) be causing problems for third party epg developers? Maybe Nine should bite the bullet and buy out Icetv (might have happened when they used to have money).

XMLTV (General) / Nero Home setup for Icetv
July 17, 2008, 12:11:18 PM
I had a go at setting up Nero Home (Nero's media centre software - comes with the Ultimate version of Nero). It's similar to setting up for SageTV using an xml file. Can't say I'm mad keen on the program, but if you don't have Windows Media Centre (XP or Vista) it might be worth doing if you have Nero. Seems to crash a lot on my Vista 64-bit.

Sorted it out. No idea what happened.

Topfield / What port(s) does Ice guide use?

What port(s) does Ice guide use? I'm wondering if my ISP has restricted traffic on them as an anti P2P measure.

It says it downloaded it but the progress bar doesn't appear.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Underbelly on 9HD
February 29, 2008, 06:26:09 PM
It was listed as HD in Tasmania on WIN, but wasn't shown. It WAS on SD WIN, so I missed it. This happens all the sodding time with WIN and SCT. Please sort this out IceTV!

IceTV EPG Content / Re: ABC1 and ABC2
February 12, 2008, 08:56:03 PM
Anyway I did this which works:

'Firstly, you need to delete the existing ABC channels by the following method:
a, Press the Ok button on the remote to display the list of channels.
b, Highlight the channel 'ABC'.
c, Take note of the channel number in the bottom of the window (it has 'DVBT Ch 41 620.500 Mhz' in Northern Tas so the relevant number for me is 41).
d, Press the Red button, highlight the 'Delete' option, press Ok, then 'Yes' to confirm.
e, Repeat steps b + d for each ABC channel (ie. ABC2, ABC HD etc.).

Now you need to rescan the ABC channels to pickup the new LCNs. To do so...
a, Go to the 'Main Menu', select 'Installation', then 'Service Search'.
b, Set the 'Search Mode' to 'Manual' and 'Channel' to 41 (the channel number from step c, above, will be different for you).
c, Then select 'Start Search...' and press Ok.
d, The ABC channels should now be scanned and then the 'Search Complete!' dialog will appear. e, Press Ok then exit out of the main menu.'

You might want to delete any unused channels (HD ones) or rename them.

If you still don't get an ABC2 epg, you may then need to check/edit the JustEPG.ini file (in a text editor) to set the LCN of ABC2 to the correct number - 22 (this is near the bottom of the file).

Topfield / Re: Mac support please!

You are talking about something other/more than simply getting the IceTv data to the Topfield via a USB cable from the Mac  aren't you?

IceTV EPG Content / ABC2 guide not showing on Topfield.
February 12, 2008, 12:06:12 PM
Is this change happening the same way Australia wide? I got the email from IceTV about the ABC channel changes and did a new channel scan on my Topfield. It does now show ABC1 & ABC2, but ABC2 is still on 21 (not 22 as was stated in the email). I can't get any guide for ABC2 in JustEPG (but did in the IceTV EPG after mapping ABC2 manually in its tap).

After changing the JustEPG.ini file to make the LCN for ABC2 to be 22 it does show in JustEPG but with (LCN 22) after the name of the channel in the guide (which I'd rather not have).

I don't know if this an IceTV or JustEPG issue. I also posted this in the Topfield forum.

I use IceTV, a Topfield Masterpiece, JustEPG, PBK. I'm in Northern Tasmania.

If you don't have that facility (the connection from TV card to motherboard) the next best thing is waking from Hibernation (which may work where a full startup doesn't). Check that the devices you need are working though (on mine the wireless network doesn't connect, but I don't need that to record tv).

I'm in rural Tasmania, but I'm not sure if that is relevant to this topic.

I had recorded a lot of movies (mostly on WIN & SCT) that were supposedly in high definition (that is they were in the ICE guide HD channels), but when reviewing them found they were just the HD loop stuff. I don't have the 'Copy SD shows to HD channels' option on. This is annoying as they are on SD and I could have recorded that.

The same thing happened with The Sopranos last night (which usually is on HD).
