Yet another example of just how bad the SBS can be. This show is about the Mysteries of Stonehenge but that is the name of episode & not the name of the show itself.

A search of SBS OnDemand doesn't find a show by that name but does find this:

https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/tv-series/mysteries-of

Mysteries Of...
Coming Soon.

Which is a C4 show:

https://www.channel4.com/programmes/mysteries-of

that's currently broadcasting in the UK & the 1st episode is of course the Mysteries of Stonehenge and is 90 mins long + ads.

The issue here is that anyone who sets up a timer wont get the full pgm recorded correctly as a single recording.

Personally I've added a timer manually via my U4 for the 1st "episode" & then updated the end time to include both "episodes".

What should IceTV do? If it was up to me, I would update EPG accordingly and complain to SBS.

However, I suspect that complaint would fall on deaf ears given how often SBS does this sort of stuff.

No doubt next weekend we'll have 2 "episodes" of "Mysteries of Loch Ness" and the week after 2 "episodes" of "Mysteries of Sink Holes".

Anyway, over to you ....

Please note that The 1% Club (AU) that was broadcast by Seven earlier today was not S03E02 or even S03E01 but a special: State vs State.

Update:
TV Networks are strange beasts ... the ABC and Planet America 2025 for example....

Tonight's episode has been advised by 7 as a 'special', the opening chit-chat in the show itself indicates that its a 'special'. Yet 7 has uploaded it to 7+ as S03E02. Oh well, whatever. Just forget that I ever posted this post.

IceTV EPG Content / Planet America
January 23, 2025, 12:16:36 AM
FYI,

We now have 2 "Planet America" shows each week:

Planet America: Wednesday and Planet America: Friday

Gone is Planet America: Fireside Chat

However, both shows are simply listed as "Planet America" in ABC's online EPG but on iView they each have there own program ID and episode number.

The pgm Id for Planet America: Wednesday is: NC2507H & for Planet America: Friday it's: NC2514H.
You can see the pgm ID and episode nbr in the video file name by placing your mouse pointer on each image. Note: The pgm ID will change each year if PA is renewed.

So last Friday (despite being listed in the ABC's EPG as PA:FC) we had Planet America: Friday S2025E01 and earlier tonight there was Planet America: Wednesday S2025E01.

For this coming Friday night, "Planet America" is S2025E02, while next Wednesday it's also S2025E02 & next Friday it's S2025E03 (as shown in the pgm details) !!!

If you go here:

https://iview.abc.net.au/show/planet-america/

You will see in the images for the 2 most recent episodes of Planet America:

"Planet America: Friday" and "Planet America: Wednesday"

in the top right corner of each image.

All I can say is well done ABC ... not!!! If the ABC want to change their names, that's fine, but they should listed as such in their EPG data & on iView ... IMO anyway.

What changes, if any, need to be made to IceTV I will have to leave that up to you to decide.

IceTV EPG Content / Channel Nine: 5am Tuesday morning
January 20, 2025, 04:25:53 PM
FYI...

Several online guides, including YourTV, has Today starting at 5:00am Tuesday morning AEDT through to 10:00am & then the Tennis.

ATM, IceTV has "To Be Advised" for the 5:00am to 10:00am timeslot.

Wouldn't be surprised that the "US Presidential Inauguration" runs overtime though.

Meanwhile Ten has the Inauguration starting at 1:00am through to 9:30am ... blimy, just how much "filler" are they going to broadcast!!!!

IceTV EPG Content / The Forest - ABC 8:30pm tonight
December 16, 2024, 07:42:27 AM
In this weeks email "The Forest" is listed with the following description:

The Forest explores the ways that we lie to ourselves and to others and poses the question "What does it take to make the decision to leave a partner?" It's a grownup story about love, sex and relationships.

It has absolutely nothing to do with that at all.

Here's the ABC's EPG description:

The story of a brilliant ecologist with a plan to save the world by restoring the planet's forests. His original work was hijacked by corporations and politicians with disastrous effect. Now he's using science to fight back.

And here's a longer description:
https://tvtonight.com.au/2024/12/airdate-the-forest.html

There's short trailer here:

Seven is broadcasting the yearly Schools Spectacular for both VIC & NSW this coming Saturday night.

In Melbourne & VIC regional we get:

SS_Melbourne.jpg

Meanwhile, in Sydney & NSW regional they get:

SS_Sydney.jpg

Outside of these 2 states, only the NSW Schools Spectacular is broadcast following a movie.

In IceTV both of these are listed under the same name: "Schools Spectacular", therefore, for me the NSW Schools Spectacular wont be recorded because it's listed as a repeat ... which it isn't.

There have been 2 yearly Schools Spectacular shows for decades; NSW started in 1984 & VIC in 1995 (I'm not saying the broadcast started then though).

Anyway, can we please fix the IceTV guide so that both shows are recorded. Perhaps list them as VIC Schools Spectacular YYYY & NSW Schools Spectacular YYYY.

Thankyou.

For those who read this post & are interested in watching either or both ... last year, following the FTA broadcast Seven streamed the UNcut versions of both shows on 7Plus and also included additional featurette episodes. No idea whether or not 7 will do they same this year.

IceTV EPG Content / Adam Hills: The Last Leg
October 28, 2024, 09:05:53 AM
Melbourne

QuoteAdam Hills: The Last Leg
'Miriam Margolyes, Phil Wang and Graham Coxon'
ABC Entertains, 8:33pm, Tue, 29 Oct 2024, 42 minutes

REPEAT

Fast-tracked from the UK, Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker are joined by special guests Miriam Margolyes, Phil Wang and Blur's Graham Coxon for an entertaining, off-beat look at the big events of the week.
Adam Hills
Series, 2024, United Kingdom, English, Current Affairs, Entertainment, Season 31 Episode 1

The above is not a repeat, it's the 1st episode of a new season.

Also "Adam Hills: The Last Leg" still shows as 'Coming Soon' in the New Show list ... Perhaps because the next episode is marked as a repeat ?????

Bop and friends take your child on mystical adventures of discovery.

I don't know what the series "In the Box" is or was but this particular broadcast is not part of that series & is not a repeat.

It's a documentary about:

An investigation by The Feed and Guardian Australia into Queensland's police watch houses; places meant for high-risk adult prisoners, but where children are being held indefinitely, and put in isolation.

There's also a series of articles, should someone be interested here:

IceTV EPG Content / America, Are You OK?

QuoteAmerica, Are You Ok?
'Series 2024, Episode 2'
ABC NEWS, 6:30pm, Thu, 10 Oct 2024, 30 minutes

REPEAT

This is a new show that didn't make the list & I missed it unfortunately, but watched the 1st episode via iView.

However, this broadcast is not a repeat. There's also a new episode next Thursday at the same time.

Subsequent broadcasts at the W/E are of course, repeats.

A update of sorts...
There is some confusion as to whether tonight's broadcast is episode 1 or episode 2. I'll guess I will have to wait until I can review the record I've got setup. Then I can compare it with what's already on iView.

Either way, I don't believe that it is a repeat.

IceTV EPG Content / The Big Fat Quiz of ...
October 06, 2024, 09:11:03 AM
FYI...

QuoteThe Big Fat Quiz Of Telly
SBS HD, 7:30pm, Mon, 7 Oct 2024, 105 minutes

What did Pedro Pascal have to ask fans to stop doing? What controversy rocked the fifth series of Bake Off? All these questions and more will be answered in The Big Fat Quiz of Telly.

United Kingdom, English, Documentary, Entertainment

This is part of number of shows that broadcast each year and have been doing so since 2004, such as:

The Big Fat Quiz Of the Year, (yearly)
The Big Fat Quiz Of Everything, (yearly)

Along with some others, such as:

The Big Fat Quiz Of Sport,
The Big Fat Quiz Of the Decade,
The Big Fat Quiz Of the 80's,
The Big Fat Quiz Of the 90's

and a few others.

I think a series should be added as:

The Big Fat Quiz Of

with the episode numbers as:

SyyyyExx

Anyway, that's my thoughts.

I have a timer running right now for the above. What!!!!

The above is a channel Ten show, not a Nine show.

What's actually on right now is:

QuoteMirror Mirror
Series Drama PG
An evil queen steals control of a kingdom and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright. (2012)

Mind you, even Freeview is wrong as this is a 2012 Movie not a drama series.

Not sure what's going on with the EPG data for Seven re: the Presidential debate which starts in < 2 hours.

IceTV has the same as YourTV which are both wrong.

This was announced several days ago ... although I think Seven were the last of the TV networks to say so.

As with several other channels, Seven's broadcast starts at 10:55am through to 12:35pm. Followed by "Seven Morning News".

FYI ... the other channels are:

Ten: 10:55am -> 1:00pm
Nine: 10:55am -> 12:35pm
SBS: 11:00am -> 1:00pm
ABC News: 11:00am -> 1:30pm

Followed by "News" for at least 30 mins.

QuoteForged In Steel
'Series 2024, Episode 1'
9HD Melbourne, 8:40pm, Mon, 19 Aug 2024, 60 minutes
Series, Australia, English, Subtitles, Sport, Entertainment, Season 2024 Episode 1

The above is the 4th episode of a series of Olympic doco's under the "Beyond the Dream" series name. And is listed as such in Nine's online EPG & on 9Now.

So far there have been 3 "Beyond the Dream" doco's:

Beyond the Dream - Boiling Point: Swimming's Greatest Rivalry
Beyond the Dream - Matildas: The Rise
Beyond the Dream - Race to Paris

with: Beyond the Dream - Forged in Steel: The Steelers, the next in the series.

Please fix the EPG listing accordingly.

Thankyou.

Hi,

Firstly, I'm very much a "dummy" when it comes to how digital FTA works, so please excuse my ignorance.

On my Beyonwiz U4 on the "Bouquet Editor" webpage for TV Provider: Nine Network Australia, I see the following TV channels (or is it LCN's ... whatever):

9Gem Melbourne       DVB-T [SD]
9GemHD Melbourne     DVB-T [HD]
9Go! Melbourne       DVB-T [SD]
9Go! Melbourne       DVB-T [SD]
9Go!HD Melbourne     DVB-T [HD]
9HD Melbourne        DVB-T [HD]
9Life Melbourne      DVB-T [SD]
9Rush Melbourne      DVB-T [SD]
Channel 9 Melbourne  DVB-T [SD]
Channel 9 Melbourne  DVB-T [SD]
Extra                DVB-T [SD]

I have 9Go! added to my "Favourites" and on the IceTV "Guide Settings" webpage. However, there is no 9Go!HD to either enable or disable. Channel 99 is disabled & 93 enabled. However, there NO programs listed in the EPG on my U4 for 9Go!, so something has changed. On the other hand, if I add a timer from the IceTV website for something on 9Go! I get a valid HD recording (Mind you the bitrate is rather crap but that's not something that we can do anything about)!!!  I presume this is because 9Go!HD is listed in the "Terrestrial TV LCN".

I had to ask Professor Google ... but apparently WIN upgraded 9Go! on channel 99 (or their equivalent) in the regions in October last year and Nine upgraded 9Go!HD on channel 99 in the capital cities on May 8th this year. I believe this is a permanent change, unlike last time Nine did this.

Can we please have the necessary changes made to IceTV.

Thankyou
Barry...

Just an update that's a bit off-topic...

  • On the IceTV Settings website, I've disable channel 93 & enabled 99,
  • On my U4 in my "Favourites (TV)", I've made CH/LCN 93 "blank" & added 9Go!Hd to CH/LCN 99,
  • I now see 9Go!Hd in the EPG populated with various TV shows.

IceTV EPG Content / Starstruck (2022)
July 15, 2024, 08:26:43 AM
Assuming I have found the correct show:

https://7plus.com.au/starstruck

or the uncut versions:

https://www.itv.com/watch/starstruck/10a1263

Then I don't think that this show has anything to do with school children performing.

A better description of the show would be:

QuoteA brand-new entertainment format which see's ordinary members of the public team up to transform into some of the world's biggest music icons.

Cheers
Barry...

While the show might be a "new" entertainment format ... it didn't last very long. "Rested" (the new fancy term for - cancelled) after S2.

IceTV EPG Content / Changes to Seven's schedule...
July 14, 2024, 01:34:25 PM
FYI,

Given the events in America a few hours ago, Seven has jumped on the "let's over-do-it" bandwagon and cancelled all/most of their TV schedule, except for AFL & DWTS:

Sydney, Brisbane
All day 7NEWS rolling coverage
6.00pm 7NEWS at 6.00pm
7pm Dancing with the Stars
8.40pm 7NEWS Spotlight - Trump Shot: The Assassination Attempt

Melbourne
All day 7NEWS rolling coverage
3.00pm 7AFL
6.00pm 7NEWS at 6.00pm
7pm Dancing with the Stars
8.40pm 7NEWS Spotlight - Trump Shot: The Assassination Attempt

Adelaide
All day 7NEWS rolling coverage
3.30pm 7AFL
6.00pm 7NEWS at 6.00pm
7pm Dancing with the Stars
8.40pm 7NEWS Spotlight - Trump Shot: The Assassination Attempt

Perth
All day 7NEWS rolling coverage
2.30pm 7AFL
6.00pm 7NEWS at 6.00pm
7pm Dancing with the Stars
8.40pm 7NEWS Spotlight - Trump Shot: The Assassination Attempt

I can confirm at the time of this post that 7HD in Melbourne is broadcasting "live" 7News from Sydney (should be a VFL footy match).

Nine & Ten appear to be broadcasting their normal shows.

Cheers
