XMLTV (General) / Nero Home setup for Icetv
July 17, 2008, 12:11:18 PM
I had a go at setting up Nero Home (Nero's media centre software - comes with the Ultimate version of Nero). It's similar to setting up for SageTV using an xml file. Can't say I'm mad keen on the program, but if you don't have Windows Media Centre (XP or Vista) it might be worth doing if you have Nero. Seems to crash a lot on my Vista 64-bit.

Topfield / What port(s) does Ice guide use?

What port(s) does Ice guide use? I'm wondering if my ISP has restricted traffic on them as an anti P2P measure.

It says it downloaded it but the progress bar doesn't appear.

I'm in rural Tasmania, but I'm not sure if that is relevant to this topic.

I had recorded a lot of movies (mostly on WIN & SCT) that were supposedly in high definition (that is they were in the ICE guide HD channels), but when reviewing them found they were just the HD loop stuff. I don't have the 'Copy SD shows to HD channels' option on. This is annoying as they are on SD and I could have recorded that.

The same thing happened with The Sopranos last night (which usually is on HD).

Do we have to go through this EVERY year? Tasmania started DST today and the tv guide is all over the place until the mainland catch up to us. At the moment it looks like SBS, ABC and ABC 2 guides are still on winter time.

Can this be sorted out - and hopefully not happen again? If it's not ICE's fault perhaps you could go back through the supply chain and get it sorted?
