G'day,

Something does not look quite right with the screen resolution on my IceBox.

No matter what resolution I select, it looks the same. From 640x480 through to 4K, the resolution looks the same.

The video signal goes from the IceBox via HDMI to my LG Smart TV.

My BW T2 feeds to another HDMI port and is crisp.

I have swapped HDMI ports on the TV and no change.

Is there something else that needs to be set as was needed to set pre/post padding?

I am setting the resolution using Settings>System>Display>Resolution.

Any ideas?

I am having problems having my settings of 5 min Pre and 15 min of Post to stick.

I have set things in Settings>PVR & Live TV>Recording, snd the values of 5/15 are remembered.

I have also gone to Home>Add-Ons>IceTV>Advanced 5/15 set there and remembered.

Yet, when a new timer is set via IceTV, it defaults back to 3/30. I am set as Expert.

Does this need to be set anywhere else?

After the latest update I have ended up with an unfortunate channel list. Its a bit like an alphabetically sorted keyboard instead of a QWERTY one.

It appears that rather than adhere to the channel list in the user's IceTV account, it tries to override that and assign a found channel and assign it because it detects a a stronger signal.

On my system I get the SBS and Channel 7 ones as in my IceTV account. Then it gets a bit freaky.
The rest of the channels are in the order as follows.

(100...) ABC HD
(100...) 10 Peach
(100...) ABC Me
(100...) ABC Kids
(100...) 9 Rush
(100...) 10 HD
(100...) 9 Go
(100...) 9 HD
(100...) ABC Plus
(100...) 10 Bold
(100...) 9 Gem
(100...) 9 Life
(100...) ABC News

Why (100...)?
Because that is now it presents and I cannot see any more.

Like the alphabetically sorted keyboard, a pain to use and difficult to work with.

Is there any way to restrict the channel numbering to what is set in the user's IceTV account? After all IceTV works perfectly well. I know that LCNs are old school, but on my Beyonwiz T2, I have manually edited bouquets and it would be getting on to close on a decade of use without any issues. Here the scan and match works perfectly for SBS and Channel but then does its own thing fir the rest.

Is there any way this can be edited manually, and if so, what are the steps?

Beyonwiz / Odd EPG missing some information

G'day,

I noticed this odd bit of missing information from the EPG on my T2 running IceTV.

Now, the attached image is via OpenWebIf, but you will see that instead of 10 Bold it shows <n/a>.

This also shows in the EPG on the T2.

So, my question is; Is this something that is being set by the information being sent by IceTV or something that has gone astray elsewhere?

I have never seen this before. I have rebooted the T2 a couple of times and forced a send of the EPG from the IceTV servers but no change. I even did a rescan, but no luck.

Any ideas?

G'day,

After getting my Beyonwiz T2 working, I decided to set it as the main PVR. Also, my IceBox was a little unreliable. As a result, I transferred the Ethernet cable from the IceBox back to the Beyonwiz.

No problem so far as both units functioned correctly, the T2 on Ethernet and the IB on  Wi-Fi.

Because of lock ups with the IB, I decided to do the 10+ hour removal of power, only now the IB cannot connect via Wi-Fi. There is no sound and no content other that had had been recorded, but no sound - even from the RCU movements.

How can I change the network connection settings? I have searched high and low but no luck. The settings shows the IP Address as 127.1.1.1 which is a local host pointer back to itself.

A Communications failed message pops up in the top right.

Any info would be appreciated.

G'day,

When I turned things on this morning, the 9 Network shows Channel 90 and then Channel 96.

I'm in Sydney and it should be showing a lot more. I am getting my IceBox to show All Channels.

Does this mean a soft reset or can I scan for just the 9 Network channels?

Getting Help / 7 network recordings are scrambled

G'day,

All of a sudden, recordings of 7 network programs are scrambled. They break up and end up aborting.

The off thing is that when I have managed to get information, I see the length of the recording as correct at 1 hour, 20 minutes) but the counter shows it is at a point -9 hours, 17 minutes with the counter counting down.

Not sure what to do.

Can I rescan just the 7 network channels or should I do soft reset?

Getting Help / Firmware Update Playback issues.

An issue with playing recordings with the new firmware update.

If you try and skip through the recording, then at some point instead of jumping ahead, you tet taken back to an arbitrary point and it starts playing back from there. If you let it be it will play through to the end. If you try and jump ahead again, it's back to where it previously jumped.

I was watching a 1 hour recording of the Indy 500 qualifying. At 37 minutes into it, I wanted to skip ahead and it took me back to 17 minutes.

Nothing like this happened before the update.

General / Updated firmware - changed home screen

After the update, the Home screen has changed.

It used to show current active recordings and the next recording to be started. That has now gone and I cannot find a way of getting that back. It was  very handy.

The other thing is in the Categories section the order used to be channels, guide, recordings, timers, timer rules.

Now it is Guide, Channels, recordings, timers, timer rules.

Not major, just got used to the previous layout.

It would great to get the now/next recordings back as they were.

I have an IceBox and unfortunately the remote control is incredibly flakey. The worst buttons are the up, down, left, right buttons. The worst one is the right one. It can take dozens of presses to get one successful press, and even then it is a case of how the remote control is oriented and exactly how the button is pressed. I went through the update last night, followed by a soft reset and entering my email address and password was a whole new level of "fun". The remaining problems buttons are slowly getting worse. I find myself having to get more creative using just the up, down and left buttons, but it is only a matter of time before they also become temperamental as well.

I have a Harmony 650 and it has a default button map for Kodi. The unknown for me is the IR receiver. Which one do I need to get?

I know the commands sent should be correct, so it is a case of which one is supported by Jeos.

I have replaced the batteries but no change.

Any pointers / tips?

Has anyone managed to get subtitles when playing a recording?

I have all the settings I can find set, but nothing.

Some of the searches say that OSDs are skin dependent. Could there be something in tvheadend that needs to be set that is stopping them from being saved in the first place?

Getting Help / Channel numbers

G'day,

I had to do a soft reset to try and address an issue with the EPG, only now I have lost the channel numbers.

Before this reset, 10 HD was 10, 10 Peach was 11, ABC HD was 20, SBS HD was 30... you get the idea.

Now 10 Peach is 1, 10 HD is 4, ABC HD is 5, SBS HD is 9...

The broadcasters are grouped together, but the number matching the channel number has been lost.

Before the soft reset, I did not have to do anything to get the cumber to match the channel number. What has happened?

Is there anything that can be done through TVHeadEnd?

G'day, The EPG on my IceBox is showing no entries for 9, some of 10, and some of 7.

My account renewed on the 11th and no issues with payment, just no EPG content.

Is this because if the weather?

I also noticed the iPhone APP was not letting me enter or modify entries either.

General / IceTV Timers not being set

G'day,

Timer events are not being set, and I suspect this is because the free IceTV Guide is no longer in the bonus free period as part of the IceBox purchase.

There are no new timers being set after May 5, 2023.

I have gone through the process of re-sending timers from the account page on the web site, doing a reboot, and even shutting the IceBox down (power removed for 1 hour), but no change.

I just checked the EPG, and the only channel set that has any guide information after May 5 is the ABC set.

Does this mean that as of May 6, the IceBox will only be able to show the ABC channel set?

If I go to my account on the web site it says everything OK, but not when I check things on the IceBox.

It is all a little on edge because that means that as of tomorrow I may no longer have access to the IceBox?

A little urgent.

I would hate to lose the couple of hundred GB of recorded content.

How soon can this be rectified?

Is there an issue with the iPhone IceTV App?

Everything has been working well, then just now, the main screen flashes on and the app closes immediately.

I have power cycled the iPhone but no change.

Is there an issue with the server or should I delete the app and reinstall it?

Rather than have to copy files on the IceBox, has someone set the IceBox to play video files sent that have been saved to the hard drive on the network?

I set my Beyonwiz T2 to do this, but cannot find a way to do this on the IceBox.

If anyone has done this it would be great to share this :D

Getting Help / Audio not in sync after reboot

G'day,

I was getting occasional buffering so decided to do a reboot. When the system came back, I notices an occasional hiccup every 20 seconds or so on both TV or a recording. When sound came back after less than a second, the audio and video were badly out of sync. I'm talking around 5 or so seconds.

I decided to do a power down, waited a couple of minutes, unplugged the power supply  and waited a couple of minutes and plugged it back in. This powered up the IceBox and the same issue.

I have tried advancing and delaying the audio via properties > settings pop up, but unchanged.

What could be causing this? It happens on all channels.

Question without notice.

With the twice yearly ritual where we dutifully move our clocks back of forward as dictated (and dance the Schmeerskahoven) to be observed tonight under threat of rude things being done to us, and seeing as the IceBox has is not old enough to have done this even once, is there anything we need to do to the IceBox to ensure that timers trigger at the correct time?

I know we will have to explain things to them where there is one group of people who blame Daylight  Saving for the sun causing the curtains and carpets to fade, and there is another group of people who believe they can actually save daylight!
