IceTV EPG Content / IceTV still winning in the courts

Well not really ICETV but definitey ICETV (legacy) :)

Not sure the basis of the judgement would actually apply to ICETV though as I thought the networks argued that creative effort did go into compiling TV guides in so much as networks actively chose what shows to air and when.

Hi,

I've set up my favourites and series records etc. and when I go to the 'summary' page I get dozens and dozens of entries that are not going to be recorded. These are all correctly noted as such but I don't really need to know it.

eg a favourites is listed but I haven't set it to record since its an old series
or
I've said I want SD only or the like

As a result my few recording are dotted around. What I'd like to see is a simple page listing only what is set to record and what should be set to record but isn't. That way I can tell at a glance if ICE has covered all my shows. I'm not saying get rid of the full version as it has its use, but I'd use the streamlined version much much more.

This assumes ICETV sends the timer name to recording devices. It would be most useful WRT merged timers (if that is ever implemented)

I think it would be a great feature if on the site when you select a show to record (especially a series recording)  you have a box to optionally enter a custom title. That way "Australian Idol Season 5", could be reduced to "Idol" on the timer. Obviously its easier to have a listing like "Idol + Superman III" than the full (2 screen wide) listing.

Depending on what you wanted to do, you could also provide suggested short name versions yourself, and/or users could simply select a single setting in their account to use these where available.
