Like I said, in my earlier post it would be really, really, really, ... nice to be able to search the IceTV guide not just be TV show name buy also by series/season & episode numbers and also whether or not they the Repeat flag attached.

So for example, I could search for, lets say, any show that has series/season one & episode one, etc. etc.

Thanks again.

That would be very useful for some users of IceTV - I for one would like to be able to limit the seasons covered by a series timer.

I agree with position stated by @Tiphanee - not intended to be exhaustive listing. If it did it would become unmanageable. I am not convinced of the need to include in the listing when a new season is about to commence (those who like the program will presumably already have a series recording set - but this may fall-over when there is a change in network or LCN on which it is broadcast).

Getting Help / Re: Too many timers
September 28, 2024, 09:13:18 PM
Not sure where the setting is but I occasionally get messages about failure to set timer on IceBox due to conflicts. My IceTV IceBox has 4 tuners and my BYOB have either 4 or 5 tuners so it is a very unusual to have that happen.

The clash avoidance option (which also prevents multiple recording of the same episode) can minimise the problem.

Try using to TVHeadend web portal to see if the IceBox thinks it has more than two tuners - why it would do so I cannot imagin.

The Double (tiipple) donuts.jpg looks to me what you would expect to see from a series recording for NCIS (two different episodes). Perhaps you posted the wrong image?

The doubled-up recordings I don't think I've seen anything like that before from IceTV, but I have seen something like it with a U4 running with FTA EPG and autotimers. I always thought it might because of slightly different times with different channel numbers for a particular station, but never really tracked it down or pursued it.

I suspect that in your case it may be something to do with the EPG issues reported earlier this week.

I agree that is seems to be a byproduct of the EPG issues we experience since last Friday - the problem seems to be arise when a timer is updated; if you create a new series recording, the forthcoming episode are scheduled without any problem.

As I understand it, series recordings for which the PVR has acknowledged setting (or updating) the timer are indicated by three filled in circles; if acknowledgment has not been received, or the timer has not yet been sent to the PVR the the episode has triple donuts.

Hopefully no more discussion is needed of this issue.

Well, it is actually triple donut as shown in the first screenshot.

A triple donut indicates that series time has not been reported by the device to the IceTV server as having been downloaded or updated.

I am also still seeing doubled-up recording although one I just noticed is for the same time rather than slightly different times. Just checked and the double-up is not on the T2.

Obviously still some teething problems.

IceTV EPG Content / Beyonwiz double donuts

My Beyonwiz are showing multiple double donuts in the My Week listing. However, there are no double donuts for IceBox. [Will ignore problems with the Toppys as that is probably due to the way in which they update timers.]

With the Beyonwiz it is odd that the most recent timer downloads are not showing any errors in the logfile; for some there are error messages for earlier downloads - see screenshot.Beyonwiz error message 18-09-24.jpg

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Missing EPG data for Canberra

I am sure that @Daniel Hall and the guide team are working flat out to fix this problem.

I understand your frustration. Having three different platforms using IceTV (Topfield, Beyonwiz and IceBox), each impacted in different ways is doing my head in. While unwanted recordings is very annoying, I find it easier to deal with after the event.

I had not picked up on the other thread, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Not sure what is actually going on, but the procedures I described above seemed to fix it for me. Speculation: it may have something to do with the way in which the Beyonwiz "pairs" with the IceTV server. Peter (PRL) may be able to suggest what is actually going on.

Looks like I am having similar issues with my IceBox units. As far as I can see episodes which on my Beyonwiz have generic episode information (usually in program name) are not being downloaded.

On the Beyonwiz I have multiple recordings of some Network 10 programs; invariably with about 10 minutes difference in the commencement time. I suspect that timers were updated but the old timers were not deleted.

For me the problems seem to be limited to Network 10.

BYOB / Re: Screen flashes green

Thanks for the update.  I have 2 NUCs with4th generation i5 used as BYOB IceBox and (fortunately) do not have this problem.

The updated kernel used in LibreELEC 12 may work with your NUC. At some stage the IceBox will mover to LibreELEC 12.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Issues with The Block.

Definitely some weird things with 9 Melbourne tomorrow

The guide team will (hopefully) sort out the problems with The Block by mid-afternoon tomorrow. As the IceBox updates EPG and timers every 60 seconds the updates will should be OK.

I have seen this happen several times in the last week or so. @Daniel Hall suggest this is propbably a networking issue.

Various possible solutions:
  • Try deactivating IceTV then reactivating IceTV
  • Try a reboot of the Beyonwiz
  • Try resetting the network adapter

You may need to try one or more of the above suggestions.

Hope this helps

Adrian, looks like Widows 7 media center has more problems than my Beyonwiz and IceBox - all I am seeing is for some series recordings there is no episode name/number, and a generic program description. As far as I can see no corruption.

I am not seeing any (obvious) corruption on my IceBox or Beyonwiz, just missing episode name/series + EP, and generic program descriptions. Seems to be associated with induvial series recordings - for example, on 10 Network seeing it for NCIS and FBI variants.

Dear Team Members

Sorry to hear about this, it must be very stressful. I will monitor things at my end to make sure any important recording take place. It explains some odd things with recordings since yesterday.
