IceTV EPG Content / Re: Bledisloe Cup
September 25, 2024, 02:14:51 PM
Quote from: Tiphanee on September 25, 2024, 12:05:38 PMHi Raymond,

Many thanks for your message. I have corrected the error for this Saturday's screening so there should be no issue with your recording. I've also taken a look at last week's screening and from this end there was no guide reason it shouldn't have recorded.
It seems in ACT and some regions they split the episodes into two separate slots which then generates a repeat of the second slot. We get around this by creating a 'continued' episode. This was in place for last weekend's game and I have just amended for this weekend.

Cheers,

Tiphanee
Thanks Tiphanee, They actually split the coverage into three slots, with pre and post game bookending the main game. Whatever you have done your end, My Week for the main game is still showing "This show is waiting to be set by device IceBoxS. This show is part of a series recording." even though the timer is still showing as having been passed to IceBox.

There seems to be a blind spot when if comes to the Bledisloe Cup. Time and time again the main game is lost to IceTV scheduling if set to first runs only. It happened again last Saturday. Even though I thought I had gone in to IceBox and manually set the main game to record from the EPG, I lost it. And now, I see the main game again scheduled as a repeat for game 2 Saturday September 28.

I threw in the towel and set the timers for first runs and repeats. Even then My Week told me that the episode would not record because it was already part of a series recording. So I have clicked on "record this episode" and a timer has now been set and passed to IceBox, but there is still a red doughnut in the EPG. Will it record this time?

Beyonwiz / Re: Beyonwiz firmware updates
September 24, 2024, 12:56:59 PM
Quote from: Rob VDN on September 24, 2024, 10:42:40 AMI have a T2. How can I find what firmware is currently installed and what is the latest version?
In the settings, last item. Or even easier through Box Info in OpenWebif - log in using the PVR IP address in a Web browser. Latest firmware is 19.3.20211010, as listed on Whirlpool page https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/9246yqj8

Quote from: Rob VDN on September 24, 2024, 10:42:40 AMIs it safe to assume that Beyonwiz no longer operates and provides new updates? Should I start looking for a new PVR? If so what can you recommend?
Pretty much although there may still be life in the old T2 yet. If repairs are needed there is an operation, Nasa electronics, that has been given reasonable reviews by BW users.

I hesitate to offer any recommendations on a replacement. Depends what exactly you look for in a PVR.

Quote from: Hati on August 04, 2023, 06:47:40 AMThe only downside is that there is no dedicated pause/play and stop buttons.
Take a look at the Kodi Addon Keymap Editor. That may give you what you need, and more!

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Beyonwiz double donuts
September 18, 2024, 04:31:33 PM
Quote from: IanL-S on September 18, 2024, 02:34:35 PMWell, it is actually triple donut as shown in the first screenshot.
The Double (tiipple) donuts.jpg looks to me what you would expect to see from a series recording for NCIS (two different episodes). Perhaps you posted the wrong image?

The doubled-up recordings I don't think I've seen anything like that before from IceTV, but I have seen something like it with a U4 running with FTA EPG and autotimers. I always thought it might because of slightly different times with different channel numbers for a particular station, but never really tracked it down or pursued it.

I suspect that in your case it may be something to do with the EPG issues reported earlier this week.

I don't know what you mean by "double donuts" but I see the same red indicators in My Week for a T2 and IceBox BYO. I haven't done any tweaking to either with the recent EPG issues.

Depending on which NUC you have there may be two HDMI outputs. If so, try the other one.

In my experience with NUCs, output characteristics may differ between the two HDMI outputs. Particularly if relatively recent, and where one port may be "native" HDMI and the other, converted displayport output.

Another option is to try the displayport output, if there is one, and a displayport to HDMI adapter.

Getting Help / Re: Stubborn timers
August 03, 2024, 07:52:05 PM
Quote from: Hati on August 03, 2024, 07:29:58 PMDid that as well, no joy. Those timers come back seemingly out of nowhere.
Unless they have come from a keyword recording, your best option is probably to raise a support ticket and get the IceTV guys to investigate and clear it up for you.

Getting Help / Re: Stubborn timers

Quote from: Hati on August 02, 2024, 07:47:42 PMHow can we get rid of these pesky timers other then deleting each recording after they finished?
The normal way is to remove a series recording on an IceBox web page or on the iPhone. Click on one of the program entries in My Week or the TV Guide and the option will be there.

If, for some reason, there are no series recordings for the Olympics showing, then you could try setting up a series recording, wait a while, 10 minutes or so, then go back and remove the series recording. You may still need to delete individual timers from IceBox.

You say timers have been set up via the app (iPhone) for "a number of Ch9 sub channels". If a series recording is set (or removed) against an entry for any of the sub channels, then that setting should apply to all of the sub channels.

Edit: If a keyword recording has been set up, then that must be deleted first, then individual timers deleted from IceBox. To delete keyword recordings, go to Manage Series on the iPhone, or Manage Series from the TV Guide drop down menu on an IceTV web page.

BYOB / Re: Missing Timers

Quote from: IanL-S on July 28, 2024, 04:43:03 PMI have had various IceBox that ceased contacting the IceTV server - not sure what caused the problem.

The first thing to do is to determine if it is a software issue (with TVHeadend/IceTV LibreELEC add-ons) or due to communication problems between the IceBox an the IceTV server. This could be caused by loss of the WIFI connection (if you are using WIFI) and it not reconnecting properly. So, are you using WIFI. [I do not use WIFI as it can be problematic - all my PVRs connect to the home network via Ethernet a luxury that is not available to everyone.]

Did you see a on-screen message about TV headend failure to connect to server - I am having this problem with my IceTV IceBox at the moment, but no my BYOB IceBox.
Thanks for the response. I really don't know whereabouts in the connection chain the issue arose, although I did swap over modems yesterday which probably triggered it. One thing I didn't try was disabling and reenabling the add-ons, but what I was really after was some guidance on how to reestablish connection with the IceTV server without resorting to a reboot. It may just be not possible.

BYOB / Re: Missing Timers

It's possible that my issue of gaps in the EPG are down to losing connectivity with the IceTV servers.

Today I observed that my BYO IceBox had not updated since yesterday afternoon. Reluctantly, because I was recording the Olympics, I restarted the IceBox which resolved the issue, but in the process lost some of the Olympics coverage.

Does anyone know how connection to the the IceTV servers can be re-established without rebooting the box? I tried refreshing the ethernet connection under the LibreELEC settings but that didn't trigger a reconnection, and I couldn't find anywhere to re-establish internet connectivity in the TVHeadend config GUI.

Quote from: IanL-S on July 18, 2024, 05:23:21 PMI do not recall seeing anything like this recently, but I only check the EPG occasionally. I do most of my interaction via IceTV Windows app or TVHeadend web server.

There have been no gaps where I have scheduled timers, as I would get an email advising of a problem.

The good news is that it is definitely unrelated to your using a BYOB IceBox. I cannot think of any hardware issue that would result in EPG gaps.
Thanks for that advice.

From what I can tell I haven't had any failed timers as a result of this either, but most of my timers currently are with ABC and SBS and the gaps have appeared to be largely with channel 7, as they have been previously in my BYO IceBox.

I'll keep an eye on it and if gaps open up again I'll lodge a support ticket. I suspect the IceTV people consider this issue to have been resolved already.

Quote from: IanL-S on June 07, 2024, 03:53:05 PMThe support policy for BYOB units is the same as that for IceBox purchased from IceTV except for hardware related issues. Sometimes it is not clear what is or is not a hardware related issue.
I don't think that recurring gaps in the IceBox EPG is a hardware issue, and I'm not convinced that is completely resolved yet. Maybe my experience is anomalous.
Lately I have observed quite substantial gaps again in my BYO IceBox. This morning I resolved this through a reboot.

As I observed before, I don't consider the need to reboot IceBox periodically as a long term solution to this problem.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Quote from: BazzaG on July 15, 2024, 04:56:06 PMIn any event, I think that over time non-HTTPS sites will become harder to get to. So it would be a good idea over time to update all of IceTV to HTTPS.
Or embrace a nice user-friendly email application...?

Quote from: Daniel Hall at IceTV on July 15, 2024, 09:35:36 AMHi Bazza,

Is this on the web version of the email?

I haven't seen an issue using gmail for the actual email itself, but I can replicate this now on the web version.
I see images in Firefox, Edge, Chrome and Opera. That is from link clicked on in Gmail, and then URL copied from Firefox.

Which "web version" and web browser are you referring to?

Edit: My bad. Gmail web interface in Firefox is showing no images. Likely a hazard for all web based email applications?
