I saw over on Whirlpool people talking about having received an email about the new payment gateway having now been established, and that we only had a week left of "free" guide updates.

I have not received any email from IceTV about this. I have received all the administrators emails to date, so my email is definitely in the system.

Has everyone else got their subscription email?

I'm suprised nobody has posted the fix for this, it's a known problem that has been around for ages.

Simply schedule a task to do a re-index of the EPG data after your scheduled import. ICE could add this to their software quite easily.

You can either run the following command

%SystemRoot%\ehome\ehPrivJob.exe /DoReindexSearchRoot

There's also a task in the Task Scheduler Libary on Win7 that's ready to go. It's under
Task Scheduler\Task Scheduler Libary\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center\ called "ReindexSearchRoot". Just change the schedule to run daily or just after your ICE Import.

So it appears the the behaviour of the xmltv plugin has changed in mp 1.0.1. I need to change the time compensation to +10, others in the MP forums though report having to use +2......

Is anyone else having troubles with the XML feed? I've just upgraded to MP 1.0.1 and the guide data is all screwed up. Just trying to isolate the Ice feed from the equations.

Cheers

IceTV EPG Content / 10HD and IPL Wrong Time
April 20, 2008, 08:18:33 PM
The Guide shows that 10HD the Indian Premier League should currently be showing, about 2 hours before it starts on regular 10. However to my dissapointement "So you think you can dance" is showing instead.

Quick Fix  ???
This has been going on since Decemeber. I'm a big fan of ICE, but they took their time on this one.
#8
This whole problem could go away if ICE just cached the DTD info..

A read for your developers

Funny, both TPG and aaNet use transparent proxies.. I know TPG uses squid, i'd assume a cheapie provide like aaNet would use it too.
#10
The problem is that they get caned either way. If they announce a "nearly here" statement via email, and there is some kind of glitch over the next couple of weeks, all the trolls come out of the closet and start bitching about how they were "deceived" by ICE. If they don't post anything, they get accused of not being communicative, and if they release the guide early, they get accused of not communicating either.
It's normal for companies to do a soft launch, let the early adopters provide feedback, and then when they are pretty certain it is all OK, to do an official launch to all and sundry. Why is it that people are so impatient these days???
#11
I'd assume that on Monday after someone reads my confirmation to them that my problem has now been resolved, that they will apply it universally.
#12
TPG got back to me that they have made the proxy exceptions, and the problem certainly seems fixed to me.

Anyone still having it?
#13
I'll confirm that i'm with TPG.
#14
Yep. 2.0.0.16

#15
I've got the problem too. I inititally thought that maybe TPG's proxies were stuffing up the feed, but i'm no longer thinking that's the case.

I was getting the error on
a) Vista MCE
b) XP Desktop
c) Vista Laptop

Now the XP Desktop works fine, but the two Vista machines refuse to work. Strange!!!
