Title: SBS Viceland EPG Melbourne blank
Post by: simoncasey on June 07, 2017, 03:47:26 PM
As per the title, my EPG is blank for SBS Viceland on my BW T4 for the entire day today (7th June)

It is populated from 00:35 tomorrow.

Same here.  Looking on the bouquets, it seems to be blank there too FWIW

Hmm, definitely a weird one, we haven't seen anything in our API monitoring for Melbourne.

The only way to get this current day back is to force a full guide update (rather than the normal incremental update), which is:

The only way to get this current day back is to force a full guide update (rather than the normal incremental update), which is:

  • Press the Plugin button on the Beyonwiz remote control
  • Scroll down to IceTV and press OK
  • Select "Disable IceTV" and press OK.
  • Select "Enable IceTV" and press OK.
  • Scroll up to "Fetch EPG and update timers now" and press OK.
  • Now check the IceTV Log to see if there are any errors listed for the last couple of minutes.
  • Exit the menu and wait 1 minute.
  • Go to the EPG and check that it now shows program information for SBS Viceland.
Did all of the above, didn't fix the problem  :(

Same issue in Perth - no guide data for SBS VICELAND HD until VICE News Tonight @ 00:35 Thu (but the SD service SBS VICELAND does have guide data) .
Also no data for 9life until 22:00 Luxury Homes Revealed.

A "full guide update" doesn't fix it.

From my T4's debug log, I can see 110 shows were downloaded to the T4 - 55 for each of SBS VICELAND HD "channel_id":"2711" and SBS VICELAND "channel_id":"33" for the period 6-Jun 23:20 to 8-Jun 07:30 AWST ("start":"2017-06-06T15:20:00+00:00" to "start":"2017-06-07T23:30:00+00:00").

I'm wondering if this is a data issue.

In the T4's EPG for 9Life, I have nothing before Luxury Homes Revealed at 22:00 (30 min duration) followed by House Hunters at 00:00.  It completely skips Extreme Vacation Homes at 22:30 and House Hunters International at 23:30
There is content downloaded for those two events that aren't shown - see attached.

Now that is very interesting, I can't see any obvious issues with the snippet you posted.

I am trying to update my T2 at the moment to the latest firmware, but am having a dog of a time finding a USB stick crappy enough to do it.

We know from a Beyonwiz forum poster that the USB 3.0 flash drive "Lexar JumpDrive S25 USB 3.0 16 GB" works fine to perform a f/w update.
Big W $20 - https://www.bigw.com.au/product/lexar-jumpdrive-s25-usb-3-0-16-gb/p/WCC100000000286252/
Woolworths $20 - https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/ProductDetails/45621/lexar-jumpdrive-s25-3-0-usb-16gb
Obviously available elsewhere

Ensure the flash drive is FAT32-formatted.
Remove any other USB devices - hubs, tuners, HDDs et. al.

Finally managed to find one (a Sandisk Cruzer Glide 8GB), but I am wondering if it was more to do with the TV and it timing out before pressing the Up button. Nothing ever came up on the TV and it only ever showed the splash screen after a bit of USB activity and flashing power light.

Ended up changing the noforce file to force and let it go for about 20 mins or so then powered off and back on, seems to have done the trick.

Going forward I can't see any gaps in the guide, but will check it out some more.
