Title: Southern Cross & Win TV Crossover 1 July
Post by: mcharltonau on June 27, 2016, 05:27:54 PM
With the change of affiliation to Southern Cross (Nine) and Win (Ten) from 1 July, all the EPG is missing for these stations. I am based in the Canberra zone which is impacted by this change.
Can someone please advise when the EPG will be updated to show the shows correctly?

Thanks Murray for your forum post.  I am posting the information here that I have just sent through to your support desk ticket as well.

Guides will begin to be updated tomorrow for WIN and SC 10.  The secondary channels such as Gem/Go/LIFE/One and Eleven where they are impacted will then follow with updates.

I have been advised that an email will be sent out to customers tomorrow to advise them of the changes.

Unfortunately because of the way the PVRs are set up, we can't change channel numbers before the 1 July as it will affect recordings prior to that date so our technical team are working on the best time to change those over.

Over the next few days, you may see some anomalies in the guide so as not to impact recordings prior to the 1 July changeover date.

Kindest regards,

Tiphanee

Basically, WIN (the company/network) will carry Ten content, and Southern Cross Austereo will carry Nine content. More info here (http://forum.icetv.com.au/iceforum/general-discussions/1/nine-switch-from-win-to-southern-cross-austereo/5220/msg28083#msg28083) (and a link in that to a reasonably informative Canberra Times article on the switch).

Yesterday Nine finalised a deal that will see Nine's programs broadcast in VIC's Mildura. Today they finalised a deal for regional SA and NSW's Griffith. That leaves Regional WA and TAS. News regarding TAS suggests Taswegians may possibly end up having no Nine programs for the short term (a day or a week or weeks).

Will IceTV send out an email flagging that IceTV has updated the LCN to Channel names so we can go into our IceTV (website) preferences and make sure our "Channel on IceTV website > Send to TV Recorder as LCN" for NSW Wollongong is correct ?

At the moment, 1:23am, 1 July, the channel names > LCN is incorrect  :(

I had to get EyeTV on my Mac to update the channels cause I lost a couple of channels at midnight when the switchover took place.

The channel numbers we have been given for Tassie are:

Win - 8 and 88
Win HD - 80
ONE - 81 and 86
Eleven - 82

Nine Tas - 5 and 51
9HD Tas - 50
9Gem - 52
9Go! - 53

These have all been setup within the IceTV system and can be selected under the My Account pages.

Hi there -

I've just corrected it in the database.  It was missing for tonight but was there for the rest of the week.

Our server will tick over in 15 minutes so you will see the change shortly.

Cheers,

Tiphanee

WIN HD not appearing in TV Guide for Sunshine Coast - therefor missing recordings.

On your recorder or on the website?

Sunshine Coast WIN HD data is showing on the website.

WIN HD programs are the same as WIN so if your recorder has WIN data it should not be missing any recordings unless you set the series to "HD Only".

PS I see that your Beyonwiz has schedules set for WIN HD.

By the way why do you want WIN and Southern Cross and Seven QLD when you get TV signals for Ten, Nine and Seven Brisbane?

There are two channels missing for NSW-Wollongong (towers at Brokers Nose):

"9Life" LCN=54 SID=0x08E9 TSID=0x0809 ONID=0x320C NID=0x329B
"TVSN" LCN=84 SID=0x0788 TSID=0x327B ONID=0x3273 NID=0x3273

On the website, it was missing from the TV Guide. It was in the My Account.
When I wrote it was not in the guide - now it is - thank you.
I have always set win news to record on WIN HD (because it is there !).
The main reason we use the WIN SC and Seven-QLD channels is because we are regional and they are the local Sunshine Coast Channels.(AND they provide the best reception). In the past the reception from the Brisbane channels has been a bit iffy, although with a booster and a new antennae, reception is better now.
Anyway, thanks for providing WIN HD to the Guide.

Thank you for tidying up the WIN Channel names from sc to WIN (consistent now in "my account" and the "TV Guide".
Nice.

On QLD - Toowoomba,

we're missing Gold (86) altogether on the channel mapping list.

ONE only has LCN mapping options 81 & 86, yet on the Topfield channel scan it comes up with 83 & 88 for ONE - Darling Downs.

SC9 Gem & SC9 Go also have unmatched LCN channels.

These issues lead to no guides for these channels

QLd Sunshine Coast

My topfield came up with exactly that for  the 80 series.
Factory reset and then a new scan fixed it all.

Yes, just doing an auto service search only adds new channels and does not replace existing channels.

blisoft needs to either "Reset Service List" from the "System Recovery" menu or do a full Factory Reset. With either method, checking the IceTV user id and password is required after the channel search. And then resending all recordings after the EPG data has arrived on the Topfield.

The easy Reset Service List method (21 steps)

The full on Factory Reset method (36 to 39 steps depending on network type, and not including padding and other options)

Ah yes ! Sorry about that. MY topfield is a very old TF7100HDPVRt with 2009 firmware, and has no such menu available.
So, factory reset was the answer for me.
Good to know though.

Any update on this? Dave? Tiphanee?

To be specific, 9Life and TVSN (TVS) are on the NSW-Wollongong page, but they don't have the correct LCNs available.

The NSW-Wollongong page is missing GOLD, ishoptv, RACING.COM and Aspire, but I don't care about those :)

Hi Ken -

I understand 9Life will be broadcasting again in the regionals from 17 July so there may be some technical adjustments prior to this airdate.

As to the other channels, that's probably a question for Dave or Dan.

Cheers,

Tiphanee

Thanks Tiphanee,

Yes, you are correct. I thought 9Life had already started broadcasting but it doesn't start until 17 July. And silly me, TVSN is just another shopping network (I thought it was something else), so you can ignore that one too. I'll go back to sleep and stop wasting your time. Thanks for the quick reply!

Ken.

Hi Ken,

TVSN (TV Shopping Network) is a shopping channel the same as GOLD, ishoptv and Aspire - and IceTV has never provided a guide for shopping channels (or datacasting / infotainment channels like racing.com and tv4me).
