Title: Competitor has nice features...
Post by: Decipher on October 24, 2006, 02:36:49 PM
Hey guys,

Love the service, but I stumbled upon another service which I've had a play with and I'd love to see some similar features come to PiMP (considering I don't have to pay any extra for PiMP).

Anyway, check it out, its called WebGuide4 (http://www.asciiexpress.com/webguide/).

Hi,

I agree - WebGuide has some great features.

I'm sure Doug will be happy to hear you like WebGuide, and may drop in and voice his thoughts here in the Ice forums. I have a feeling he is more aware of PIMP than you know :)

Doug?

Regards,
Shane.

Does anyone actually use this locally in Australia?? If so does it work?

I use it in addition to IceTV / PIMP. It is a great way of connecting to your media centre and seeing what is going on. Works perfectly fine in Oz.

Webguide is great... but have you visited the website lately - have a look at the 'Top List' and select Australia.... Apparantly these are the top shows being recorded, for which data was collected annon....

1) The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
2) Top Gear
3) The Colbert Report
4) Neighbours
5) Click
6) Deal Or No Deal
7) The Simpsons
8) Home And Away
9) Desperate Housewives
10) Sesame Street
11) Late Show With David Letterman
12) Days Of Our Lives
13) Prison Break
14) South Park
15) Judge Judy
16) The Bill
17) Seinfeld
18) House
19) Shameless
20) The Young and the Restless
21) 60 Minutes
22) 24
23) Cops
24) Whose Line Is It Anyway?
25) The Bold and the Beautiful

A few suprises in that list I thought !!! Somebody is letting the Wives or girlfriends set up recordings for the daily soaps - or is it just the guys at work not wanting to miss something ????

(Dont know how old the data is or what size sample - but it is fun checking out the shows across different countries !!! http://www.asciiexpress.com/webguide/TopList/tabid/69/Default.aspx )
