I've logged into the website using my account just fine, whenever I try to log into the iphone app I get this error message.

You had 2 accounts both with the same email address. I have deleted the free guide only phone app account so you should have no problem logging in to your paid account now.
You may need to reset or deauthorise the phone app first (from the settings menu).

How do I reset/deauthorise the phone app? I have tried deleting and re-installing the app already.

I guess you would have thought that a delete and reinstall would do all that for you. But if you wish to try the further step, then go to settings on the app, and do a reset application.
