Channel 31 in Melbourne & Geelong is going digital tomorrow the 28th on a test broadcast for two weeks and then on a permanent basis on July the 11th. - http://www.mctcltd.org.au/digital/ (http://www.mctcltd.org.au/digital/)
Will IceTV be providing the epg for Channel 31 when up and running?
Second this- just bought an EyeTV now that C31 has hit digital, may keep the IceTV subscription, but not if it doesnt include C31
I know Ice are working with the community broadcasters to try and get the data in the right format. However as a work around, until that is done may I suggest the following if it is legal. Fill the C31 with TBA but break it into 30 minute blocks ( this is how long most of the shows run ) and this way we will at least still be able to program recordings for those shows we know the times of. As it stands now, I would have to disable Ice and use the FTA guide to advance record anything on C31. Trust that all makes sense
G'day,
It is a kludge, but I think this is what is intended.
Disable IceTV EPG on your PVR. This will enable the standard FTA EPG.
Now make Channel 31 (or should that now be 44 :) ) your current channel. This will see it get the 7 day FTA EPG.
Now go back and turn the IceTV EPG back on.
You will need to do this every 7 days, or if you switch things off.
It is a bit of a kludge, but hopefully IceTV and the community broadcasters can get their act together.
I am surprised it has gone on for this long. Surely advertisers cannot be aware of this as if they were, they would be jumping up and down. How difficult can it be? IceTV need the data in a certain format. TVS (or whatever they are called where you are) have data even if it is in a different format. All that needs to happen is for an application to be written to translate it from one format into another.
Fairly Sure C31 Melbourne aren't sending an EPG, at least not yet.
However, they do send the papers and others a guide, wouldn't take much for IceTV to request a copy.

In Sydney it is TVS, and TVS have been providing their own EPG. It seems that the issue here is that IceTV want it in a particular format and TVS aren't doing this.
Are we going to get EPG for Melbourne? It has now been running for nearly a month! All of the on-line listings I can find (tv.com, au.tv.yahoo.com, yourtv, citysearch, ebroadcast) have the EPG for 31

Perth community TV (Digital WTV) has been online since April 10 and we're still waiting for Ice to catch up. Tivo has it. :(
Its been a few weeks now and no response from anyone at IceTV about this.
Brisbane Channel 31 is also going / gone digital. Looking forward to this being added to the list of available channels.

Stand in line ;D
The silence from IceTV is deafening >:(
We understand your concern and greatly appreciate everyone's continued patience regarding this matter.
Rest assured, we're not simply 'ignoring' this and are doing quite the opposite.
We now have Agreements in place with almost all of the community digital channels and are in the process of figuring out how to incorporate their scheduling information into our EPG service.
The process of getting these Agreements in place, so that we have the right to include their EPG information is not something we can do overnight. Likewise, it is not a simple task to have their data automatically inputted into our EPG so that we can immediately offer everyone the ability to enjoy our advanced recording features, such as series recording and keyword recording.
With the support of most of the community channels in each city, our guys are working hard (behind the scenes) to rectify this situation and include the EPG data for the new digital channels in our EPG service as quickly as possible. Being users ourselves, we want to see this happen as quickly as everyone else.
We thank you in advance for your continued patience and hope to make everyone happy very shortly.
Cheers,
Matt

Appreciate your post Matt, but it would have avoided me and others getting annoyed, had you posted this weeks ago ;D
Yes. Me too.
Nothing worse than companies ignoring their own forums.

Hey, consider yourselves very lucky.
There are a number of companies that just do not enter into a conversation via a forum.
Tivo has now obtained C31 (Melbourne) program schedules - will IceTV be far behind?
So, any news on Channel 31, Mr IceTV?
Come on Ice, if the TIVO bozo's have it it, it can't be that hard to get it into our ICE services!!!
It's coming, and real soon. I don't have a date for you yet as it's not within my control (unfortunately).
No doubt after the Marngrook Footy Show goes into recess till next winter.

How long must we wait?

and 1 day!
The community channels cannot supply the guide information in a format suitable. This we have just found out. As you can appreciate, GEM and 7-MATE have suddenly appeared also. The community channels must now be compiled manually.
Since IceTV commenced just over 5 years ago, the number of channels has at least tripled (more) but the cost of the service has stayed the same, and for many has in fact reduced. So whilst I understand wanting community channels, I'd ask that you bear in mind all is being done every day by dedicated people to bring you; the customer, what you deserve. A quality service.

I applaud the amount of effort that you put into this product.
I can't begin to imagine the height of the brick wall the broadcasters build.
it's a great service, and having to put a lot of it together manually just beggars belief.
Don't stop now.
So how is it Tivo can deliver c31 epg via their system?
Sure you've got a good product and sure the price hasn't gone up but you've got a lot more subscribers than 5 years ago.
Surely you've got someone who has the ability to spend a little bit of time and xml/html skill that can, or even use a basic screen scrapper prgorgam to pull the c31.org.au site... and import it into your database....

So What does that mean? Will or wont we get a C31 EPG? If so, then when?
I suppose we just rely on the DVB EPG. At least it's available now.
Shame about the scheduling via IceTV.
WestTV (Perth Ch31) is now appearing in the EPG on our beyonwiz, via Ice. Nice one folks.
I had previously communicated with both WestTV and Ice and understood it to be a "simple" case of WestTV getting the data to Ice in a suitable format for Ice to use, clearly this has now occurred or Ice have started compiling it themselves as suggested by Mitch.
The only hole remaining for us is that WestTV does not yet appear as one of the channels in Interactive, so we cannot yet schedule programmes via the site.
Getting there though....

This isn't appearing in my Vista Media Centre do we have to do a re-scan for it to pop up ?

Are you sure? it's not on my Wiz, and it's not in any of the settings pages online.
I really don't get the Ice excuse of 'not in a suitable format'. I assume this means they're not getting all of the information they want. At this stage it's probably time for them to give up on ideals and give us anything they can.
Finally C31 Melbournes guide is up.
thanks Ice TV we really do appreciate it !!!
Just letting you know that 31 Melbourne is actually C31.
I had to manually add the listings to the guide.
Also 31 on its own looks wrong (well to me anyway).
Hope it can be changed.
Kevin
C31 Adelaide started digital transmission on Friday 5th November (as 44 Adelaide).
I now have an empty black line in my IceTV EPG that needs to be filled. ;D
When can we expect 44 Adelaide data to appear in the Adelaide EPG?
Guides for Community TV will be available for Brisbane tomorrow, and Adelaide within 10 days. Perth will follow this within days. The guides are accurate, yet basic.
There is rarely an indication whether a program is a repeat or not. This was one of the many 'sticking points' / delays with the information provided us. Not to denigrate these channels or staff as they do a great job on what I'm sure is a shoe-string budget. It's just a fact of life.
Hope all community TV fans enjoy.
Good stuff.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
Well done Mitch - thanks in advance for everything you do for us
Anyone get any Timers to work for C31 here in Melbourne? MyWeek showed it set for this morning and the Beyonwiz has C31 tuned in...but the timer didn't work (in fact I don't think it was even sent down to the BW). Any theories?

I have a timer set for Sunday, just checked, the timer is set. I will have to report on Sunday, if it records or not. I have a Toppy 5K, btw
Did IceTV jump the gun with their email out about WTV? It's not appearing on the account settings or the interactive site.
