Quote from: Ian_AW on May 09, 2024, 02:21:23 PMI did have Enable Timer Conflict Avoidance ticked.

So, now to why I am getting BBC News st Six recorded when I have never recorded it through IceTV or otherwise.

Thsnkd.

Absolutely no idea why you are seeing this. I have a dim recollection of someone reporting a similar issue before, but cannot recall the details. I may even have seen it myself during pre-release beta testing, but that may just be "senior's moment" inspired recollection.

It may be time to contact IceTV technical support (clearly not a hardware issue).

Am I correct in my recollection that the first screening is on 9HD and the subsequent one of 9GemHD? Cannot see why different LCN would make a difference.

Have you checked in your account that in you Guide Settings you have selected "Enable Timer Conflict Avoidance" which also prevents duplicate recordings. I think the time frame for duplicate is a week rather than 24 hours.

There are some issues with deletion of timers with IceBox (which @Daniel Hall is working on), but I doubt that this is the causes.

Quote from: IanL-S on May 06, 2024, 01:15:05 PMI gather from Delta Mike Charlie that there is (still) active development taking place of the TVHeadend add-on.

Not sure why closed captions are not working with *.ts; my recollection is that it is a known problem - it is not a TVHeadend problem but a Kodi problem (if I recall correctly).
.........
As a matter of interest, for anyone using the IceBox as a media player for files not generated by IceBox, subtitles are also displayed for mkvs with embedded subtitles using the IceBox player, and even for other video files where there are external subtitle files present.

I have also played recording from my Beyonwiz that I converted to *.mkv on my IceBox. In prior generation of LibreELEC *.ts files sometimes played closed captions. On a slightly different issue, the current build is better at isolating the closed captions, it is just in the case of *.ts the play refuses to show them.

Getting Help / Re: Tuners that work
May 05, 2024, 12:34:00 PM
I doubt that multiple eyetv diversity USB tuners would cause any problems - I have 4 xBox one tuners on my BYOB and it does not cause any problems (that I am aware of).

Great news that you managed to solve the problem, even if you are not sure how you managed to do so!

Not had anything like that happen to me. The only thing I can think of it to to a USB installation of the latest firmware. As you have already copied the recordings off the IceBox it will not matter that the USB installation nukes the existing installation.

You should also copy the backup folder to external storage, as it is needed to recover the recordings. My understanding is that you copy them back (including the backup folder) when the setup wizard asks for your username.

Ian, thanks for the additional information - clearly a different problem to the one I had about two weeks ago. Hopefully @Daniel Hall has resolved the problem.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: New shows

I agree that not putting a repeat tag on this episode is a good idea.

Ian, what PVR are you using? If it is an IceBox, it is possible that the original timer was created using the IceBox Timer Rules, in that case you will need to delete the timer rule on the IceBox. With the current firmware, when a timer rule "creates" a timer, it is uploaded to the IceTV Server, and if you delete the timer on the IceBox, that is the timer listing (not the timer rule) or via the IceTV app, the timer rule will recreate that timer.

The files associated with add-skip function are not deleted when your delete the recording. There is a clean-up routine that runs every night which is supposed to remove the files. Not sure if it is activated at the moment. Kodi only shows directories in "Recordings" that have either a *.ts or *.mkv file - the recordings themselves.

The cleanup is prevented "around" the time that recordings are scheduled, so if you do a lot of recordings overnight they may not be deleted.

The time taken can also change with the codec use - MPEG2 tends to be fast than h.264, and the resolution (higher the resolution longer the scan), and the bitrate. It is very complex!
#13
My understanding is that the add-skip process does not start until the recording is completed. Further only one recording can be processed at a time, so the delay may be several hours. The time taken to process is longer the greater the pre- and post- padding.

General / Re: Permanent Directory Mounts in IceBox

It is my recollection that it cannot be done. @Delta Mike Charlie may have useful insights.

Just found this atrical on the LibreELEC wiki which may point you in the right direction

General / Re: Recording capacity

There is a setting that allows you to select the partition to which recordings are saved [I have not tried it]. You have to manually enter the path. The setting is in the TVHeadend www server - select configuration > recording, which brings up a dialog box, in the bottom half there is a setting called Storage Path - the default location is "/storage/recordings". The save button is NOT on the dialog box, but on the very left of the bottom line of the menu. I suggest cloning the default profile, and changing the path for the clone. Call the clone something like "record to USB HDD". You will then to be able to easily change between storage locations.

Do not have a USB drive attached to my IceBox but the path is probably something like /dev/sdb1 - I am not an expert on Linux so I am guessing. Once you have attached the USB drive, you can find the "actual" path in Kodi settings - go to System Information then to Storage, and details of all attached storage is displayed.
