Hi everyone...

I have absolutely no idea if it will work - for people that have already received the Skippa unit, but i have lodged a PayPal claim, and here is the way in which i did that - in case it assists others in doing the same. I do not know if it will be successful or not but you may as well try.
<snip>
Just thought i'd post in case it encouraged or helped others to do the same...

Mark

Thanks for the walk through Mark. I have jumped on the bandwagon and lodged a paypal claim in the same vain as yours.
Will see how it pans out.

I understand the Skippa project is defunct.

However for those of us who actually have Skippas..... Is there any possibility that a licenced version of the Ice TV EPG, operated by a 3rd party would provide Ad skipping functionality.

I read a suggestion the current lack of skipping is due to a firmware issue. But is true or could it really be due to lack of a monkey in the organ grinder?

I guess my real Q is... IS the Ad Skipping possible with nothing but a functioning Skippa firmware and the Ice TV EPG.

My vote is YES as I have nothing else to lose and I can actually decide at a later a date is I wish to proceed.

The add-skipping subscription was, as I understand it, to cover the cost of updating the relevant part of the firmware. Provided that the need to log into the relevant server at least once a day is removed, it will continue to operate indefinitely (problably with ever-decreasing efficiency due to changes in the way adds are placed by commercial TV networks).

Thanks, Sounds slightly promising then. I will definitely pay for the EPG if it allows skipping to function.

Ok thanks, so it is a common issue. Nothing to be done then but wait and hope.

Quote..does the AutoSkip still working on the skippa i recorded some shows last night and they have not been processed yet

Likewise the Autoskip processing seems to have stalled on my box too. Not sure this is due to the firmware update two days ago, lack of something being processed IceTV side or something totally unrelated.

My Settings area > IceTv continually reports processing a recording from 36 hours ago. So I deleted that recording, rebooted the box and it incremented on to reporting it was  processing a newer recording. But again it never seems to complete.    Are others seeing this too?
Not surprising if something/one back office is not currently running on all 8 cylinders given the circumstances.

Yes indeed it works fine now. Thanks for the quick response and fix to my problem.

Yep it would seem so. So it is not exclusive to vista then.

Updated to Vista SP1 about a week ago. Since then I have noticed http://www.icetv.com.au/interactive/ seems to always hang for about 30 seconds when FIRST opened. (not responding) messages and so on then page refreshes and it eventually comes good. It happens opening the ../interactive pages and not the home ICE page.
Not sure if the webpages interaction with SP1 is the cause or if just co incidental?
I use IE7 and AvantBrowser and Vista's inbuilt firewall.
Other ICE interactive webapage users at Beyonwiz have reported the same issue, so it is not isolated to me. Any ideas what is going on? It is more of nuisance than anything. No big deal. Could it be related to Firewall settings?

Will use that URL for the time being cheers.  :)

Hi, New around here so excuse if posted in the wrong area...
Anyone else having problems with http://remoterecord.com.au lately?
"Our Mobile site is ultra low bandwidth, so its typically very usable on slower GPRS mobile phone networks and very quick on 3G networks."
Used to open on my phone as a a very useable low graphic page. You could jump forward and back by 2hrs or 24hrs in a text based interactive prog guide. Something has changes in the last few days. Now the remote record link seems to just open the full bandwidth http://www.icetv.com.au/ page which is not suited or useable on a phone.  :(
Shame cos remoterecord was terrific.  Is this just a temporary outage?
