Quote from: raymondjpg on May 30, 2024, 03:34:47 PMAt least ABC iview offers a reasonably decent bitrate for 720p compared to SBS On Demand, whose 720p bitrates are quite frankly atrocious for a publicly funded broadcaster.
Selected content on iView is at 1080p ... think of major local & OS drama shows. Most of iView is around 1200kb/s.

With SBS they reduced the bitrate of their content on SBS/OD around October last year. It went from about 1500kb/s down to around 900kb/s. As with most things, SBS own productions, such as, Who Do You Think You Are? is at higher bitrates.

"...publicly funded broadcaster". Therein lies the problem, both have been staved of funds over recent years and almost certainly don't have the necessary funds to invest in the required storage, bandwidth, etc. to support high bitrate streaming.

The menu at the top of the IceTV website, in particular, the "TV Guide" is not working. I'm reasonably certain it was OK yesterday & certainly the day before.

I used to click on "TV Guide" at the top of the webpage & get a pull down list to select "My Week", "Manage Series", etc.

Now none of that works anymore. The URL when clicking you get is:

https://www.icetv.com.au/#

and essentially nothing happens.

I can go to the bottom of the webpage & select the individual links for "My Week", etc. but that's somewhat annoying to do so.

Whatever change was made to your website it didn't work correctly.

Can someone please look into this issue.

Thankyou

So who was Melissa Caddick and where is she now, and is she even alive? A foot found in the sea argues not. But her disappearance has raised more questions than answers. This documentary follows the tale so far.
Australia, English, Documentary

This is currently listed in the IceTV guide as a single episode but it's a 90 min doco from ITV that Nine is broadcasting in 2 episodes (as TVNZ has already done in NZ).

PS. I wouldn't be surprised that Nine doesn't cut a further 5 mins or so from each episode so they can broadcast more ads!!!!! We'll see.

Period department store drama series Ladies in Black, will premiere on ABC in June.

Sunday 16th June at 8.30pm on ABC (with all episodes on ABC iView).

Quote from: vader1111 on May 04, 2024, 03:48:25 PM... and somewhat bizarrely, they're showing Season 3, ahead of Season 2.

Yes read that article but as far as I'm aware Ten is going to call it season 2. We'll find out for certain shortly when the episodes are listed in various EPG's and on 10Play.

Well, Seven has added 4 episodes to 7Plus:

45', 44', 44' & 45', so it appears that each of the 2 UKTV episodes have been split into 2.

Season 1 of NCIS: Sydney will have its Free to Air premiere on Ten in May.

Wednesday, 15th May at 8.40pm on 10.

Please Note: If I remember correctly Ten broadcast the 1st episode of NCIS: Sydney as a "preview". Assuming that Ten broadcasts the 1st episode again on the 15th May (IMHO Ten would be idiots not to), I would suggest IceTV mark this episode as new.

Meanwhile, S2 is currently in production and will premiere on Paramount+ later this year.

I feel the real cause of this is the EPG data itself that is released by Seven West Media. Even Seven gets it wrong.

Lets take a look at next Wednesday nights broadcast.

Starting here: https://tvguidetonight.com.au/ (which is the online guide linked to on the 7Plus webpages).

Change it to Wednesday night and we have:

The 1% Club listed for 7:30pm. But there is NO indication as whether it's the UK or AU.

However, if you expand the listing you get:

QuoteThe 1% Club
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Game show
PG
Season 1, Episode 6
A group of 100 everyday Australians answer questions to see if they are smarter than 99 percent of the population.

Notice the reference to "100 everyday Australians".

And the "Watch on 7+" takes you to: https://7plus.com.au/the-1-club, which is the Aussie edition.

The UK edition is: https://7plus.com.au/the-1-club-uk.

Freeview also has it listed as the Aussie edition.

Without going through all of the online EPG's, the only 1 that I've found to be "right" (sort of) is Nine's YourTV guide.

As of today, searching through the EPG has "The 1% Club" listed only once, so it would be safe option to have both: "The 1 Percent Club Australia" & "The 1 Percent Club UK" defined to record both New & Repeats.

IMDB is incorrect as the 2 episodes that have been broadcast so far by UKTV average 85 mins, excluding ads (86 & 83).

So it seems to me that Seven may very well split the show into multiple parts to accommodate the ad/promo breaks. Either that or a lot of footage is going to left on the cutting room floor.

The "1st" episode is currently listed at 60 mins, minus 20mins for ads & promos. I guess we'll see next Tuesday night.
