General Discussions / Re: It's DST time again
April 01, 2012, 09:21:21 AM
I found that my XML data was still out this morning (I deleted all data & re-downloaded in ForTheRecord). I switched to the OTA EIT to make sure this mornings recordings went off OK, but channel 10 is out on that. :o

I'll give it the chance to flush through & try again this afternoon.

Hi guys,

SBS are showing a special tonight called Cadsel - Le Triomphe at 10pm on SBS One & SBS HD tonight (25/7). Not sure if it's 30 mins or an hour. Details here: http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/news/31853/cadel-le-triomphe

I'm using MediaPortal & the XMLTV feed for Sydney, & I just forced an update & Flight of the Conchords is still in the slot.

Can you update please?

Thanks,

Justin

I have no idea bout 'yellow stars' however, I've just had a good look at Monday Night's Guide and i can't see the problem. The 6pm has the title ..........

Cycling: 2010 Tour de France Highlights

episode .......

Stage 1 - Rotterdam - Brussels

SBS 1 is right, SBS HD isn't.

IceTV EPG Content / Tour de France Highlights

Hi, I've just set up a series record for the 6pm Tour de France highlights on SBS HD (Sydney, Windows 7 Media Center) & noticed that Monday night's episode wasn't picked up. It's titled "Cycling: 2010 Tour de France" while the rest of the series is titled "Cycling: 2010 Tour de France Highlights". The other episodes also include the stage in their description (Sunday = Prologue, Tuesday = Stage 2, etc.), Monday's doesn't have the info despite being stage 1.

Can you please correct this & make sure all future highlights episodes are tagged correctly?

Many thanks.

Russell,

Just curious, how are you dealing with the initial burst of inband data when initially setting up in Windows 7? I've never been able to avoid it all together (i.e. can't choose to disable inband fast enough) & end up having 7-10 days of it on some channels before the IceTV data picks up after it. It's particularly noticeable on channel 9 where they put a copyright message in their descriptions.

It's a problem because series recordings set up based on the inband data are likely to fail after the IceTV data kicks in during the second week (because the inband data naming has no convention & may vary from the IceTV logical naming).

Thanks,

Justin

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Questions on ABC HD content
March 18, 2008, 01:52:26 PM
QuoteIn the case of ABC and SBS we are able to use the information from there websites, however neither of these stations publish a "HD" channel guide, there is also no confirmation that all shows that are on the SD channel will be played on the HD channel.

We took the stance a long time ago that it was better to have an "Unknown" section in the guide than to list a program that may not be shown on that channel.

I think that it's pretty well known that ABC HD duplicates ABC1 except for state based content (news, newsbreaks and Stateline). SBS HD is a pure duplication of the main SBS channel. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect guide data to reflect that.

Not true, the "Copy SD to HD" function will only be used for channels that do not have a specific HD guide. For example in capital cities the copy SD to HD does not apply to 7HD or 10HD (and shortly to 9HD as they begin their multi-channeling as well). So you can definitely use this option and not impact on the multi-channel guides.

It would be nice is this was made clear on the account page where you select the option.  ::) The "what's this" suggests that it will be applied to all HD channels.

Djos is spot on - this is very annoying. Surely it can't be that hard.  >:(

Good stuff!

Anyone recording something on 7HD (seems to be only after 10:30PM) might want to record off 7SD, otherwise you may not get what you're expecting. :'(

Just a heads up - I'm reliably informed that while Boston Legal was on 7SD last night, a movie called The 25th Hour was on 7HD, so their new multichanneling may have already kicked off (test maybe?).

I'm not sure where you're going to get your guide data from 7HD from though, as 7 seem to be playing their cards close to their chest.

Hi Mitch,

It wasn't marked as a repeat in Sydney:

My guide region is set to Sydney & I use the Interactive client to do an extra daily update at 4PM, so it wasn't a missed update. The previous Tuesday wasn't marked as a repeat either - I no longer have the recording & DVR-MS metadata to give you a screenshot of that though. These were both off 9SD. Next week's has now been marked as a repeat - thanks.

At least the last 3 Tuesday night episodes of CSI:Miami (I think that's every episode since it moved to Tuesday Nights) have actually been repeats, but haven't been tagged as such. Last night's episode, Hell Night, is from season 3 & was aired in Australia at least 2 years ago (2004 in the US).
