Streaming over DLNA works fine for about 30 minutes, then the video skips for about 10 seconds, then is ok for about 5 minutes, then the cycle repeats. Does this will all file types. Wifi network and NAS fine as same equipment I use with my PS3 which plays the same files fine.

Any ideas?

Did a few more tests last night and can't get mkv files playing over DLNA.

The mkv files I'm using are x264, but x264 in an mpeg container work fine so I believe it's just the mkv container than isn't supported. Not the end of the world as my PS3 was exactly the same.

Maybe they have added support for the mkv container but my files are encoded with an unsupported codec? I will have a further look tonight and do some comparisons.

Sounds like the channels or region in your account do not match the channels that the Humax picked up. For example, you may be in Wollongong and have the region set to Sydney.

Good guess on the locations, I am in Wollongong and had the region set to Sydney! Anyone know if Wollongong would be classed as NSW Regional North or South?

I haven't tried this with the Humax yet, but it has worked perfectly with other devices:

It transcodes on the fly so nearly any file should play fine.

Not sure if my experience will help, but I'll list it below just in case:

I set the Humax up last night and connected to my network via wifi. The Humax connected to my NAS fine (Western Digital My Book World) and streamed videos over DLNA with no issues (haven't checked all file formats and encodes yet though). I also used Windows Media Player to connect to the Humax and try and watch a recorded show, but it just stuttered and was unwatchable. Tried via VLC and it worked fine. I also found an easy way of downloading the recordings...

Find the video via Windows Media Player, right click it and select Properties. At the bottom it will have a URL, copy the entire address and paste it into the URL bar in Google Chrome (didn't try any other browser) and Chrome will automatically download the .ts file to your machine. I then tested playing this back in WMP and it played fine.

I also tried watching the recording on my Google Nexus 7 tablet. To get this working I used the "MediaHouse UPnP / DLNA Browser" app along with MX Player. The MediaHouse app sees the Humax and can stream the recording with no issues.

I still need to test some HD recordings, maybe SBS HD or One as I am doing all this over an 802.11g network.

My unit arrived yesterday with 1.05, so I updated to 1.07 which went well. The IceTV EPG only shows a few channels though, the rest are blank (think I need to read the various posts on this though).

Also, it won't play mkv files, should it? I'm sure I read somewhere that 1.07 added support for mkv files?

Page 74 of the manual explains it:
1. Using the Universal Remote Control
1. Select the mode(PVR, TV, DVD, AUDIO) you want to set by pressing the corresponding button on the
remote control. The button will blink once.
2. Keep pressing the button for 3 seconds until the button lights on.
3. Enter the 3-digit code. Every time a number is entered, the button will blink. When the third digit is
entered, the button will blink twice.
4. If a valid 3-digit code is entered, the product will power off.
5. Press the OK button and the mode button will blink three times. The setup is complete.
6. If the product does not power off, repeat the instruction from 3 to 5.

Just in case anyone is having issues with getting this working, step 4 never happens for me. But if you hit ok it accepts the code anyway and the remote can operate my TV and amp just fine (well nearly, it won't power off my amp but no big deal).
