Hi guys,
I was looking through the guide data the other day to check what episode Survivor was up to and was very, very annoyed to find that the EPG data for 2 x consecutive episodes on Tues night contained spoilers on who would be eliminated in those episodes.  This really ruined the experience of those episodes for me.

I've never experienced that before with any other guides and hope that this isn't something that'll continue with ICE.

Cheers

Same issue here.....and I'm also experiencing some timers not firing because another timer is recording 2 identical shows on different channels, therefore using both tuners on my Beyonwiz PVR.  And I can't choose the option to just record 1 instance because some shows are having multiple, new episodes broadcast consecutively e.g. Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Or I might actually want to record the repeats as well as new eps of Seinfeld etc.  The inability to choose a specific channel (apart from the major ones) is causing some very real problems in our household....just the opposite of what I believe ICE Interactive is supposed to try and avoid.

Why do ipad users want a specific app? Why not use the standard web site? The iphone is a little special because it is screen constrained compared to a PC but that is not true of an ipad.
Haha, spoken like someone who doesn't own an iPad!  I'm not having a go at you, Mark.  I don't think a specific iPad app is being asked for; rather, a universal app....and a lot of iPad apps are now universal.  That's why I was saying that perhaps the upscaling factor might take care of the additional screen real estate i.e. the font/icon size for the iPhone app could easily be tripled in size without being too large on the iPad.  But I'm speaking as someone who really has no idea about these things and if Daniel says that it's not a feasible idea, then that's good enough for me.

In any case, I've said my 2c and will let the experts make the decisions  :)  I just thought I'd add my vote to this thread.

I just got an iPad 2 and one of the first apps I installed was IceTV.  I agree that an iPad version would be awesome if/when resources allow for its development.  As far as space utilisation goes, I think that the upscaling factor (i.e. larger fonts/icons etc) will probably mean that there won't be a lot of additional space to fill anyway.

ABC2 won't be updated for awhile ...... bear with us please. I'm sure you don't want a long winded explanation as to why ..... it is beyond our control right now.

I'm sure you assume incorrectly.  This is an interruption to service and I, for one, am annoyed I had to search on the forums to find out about it.  And to compound matters, there is no official announcement or explanation of the outage other than your reference above, which completely dismisses the problem.

Mitch, I'm not personally having a go at you here.   But ICE should be way more proactive with things like this... it's what people pay for.  At the very least, a forum announcement should be posted detailing what the problem is and any ETA for resolution.

As you said, it's beyond your control and most people will be forgiving of that.  Ironically, even if it was a monumental screw-up on behalf of ICE, most people would forgive that as well (the first time).  But to not even voluntarily acknowledge the problem... that is unforgivable and is what will lose ICE subscribers.

Please post an announcement as to why we don't have ABC2 data, and when you are hoping to restore the full service we have all paid for.

I quite agree with this.  I also had to search the forum for news on what's happening with ABC2.  A short announcement would be really, really helpful guys.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: House and NCIS

Same for me.  I was pretty surprised to see an old episode of House last week but there wasn't any RPT flag.  What gives?  I thought this was part of what we're paying for.

Hi all.  I've only recently moved to ICE due to most epg sources using encryption.  Initially, I didn't mind the witty content descriptions but now they really annoy me.  My wife has even complained a number of times recently "We're paying for this????"  And when the wife complains, I know that I'm on dangerous ground when the time comes around for subscription renewal.

I'm kind of regretting my hasty decision to move to ICE now.  Whilst it's nice not having to worry about whether or not the epg grabber is going to fall over each day due to new source encryption, I feel that I'm now paying for an inferior product whereas I used to get a far better product for free.

Sorry ICETV.......but I'm one of those subscribers who would far prefer more professional extended info, or at least have a choice between serious data and "ICE Man" data.  How about it???
