Getting Help / Re: Lost autoskip function aft...
Last post by Daniel Hall at IceTV - May 07, 2024, 01:46:30 PM
Hi Phil-F,

Can you please check if a specific file is available on the IceBox as it sounds like the automatic commercial detection is no longer running, but the plugin thinks it is.

To check this you will need to connect to the IceBox over the network via SMB, then you need to go into the "Userdata" share. In there is a folder called "addon_data", go into it, then into a folder called "service.icetv".

In this folder have a look for the file 'commskip_running', and if you see it, then delete it. Within the next minute or so the file will be recreated as the next file is processed.

We are working on a way now to auto check for this eventuality, and its not a file to be deleted in most scenarios. If it has been a few days since any files were processed though, then it will need to be deleted this once.

Quote from: Phil-F on May 06, 2024, 11:45:14 PMAutoskip was working when I installed 1.11.6 but since I installed 11.6.2 autoskip does not work anymore for any recordings.

From recollection, the update installs with addskip turned off.

To Turn it back on, go to the Main Menu, select Addons, Select the IceTv icon, select General and turn the Automatic Commercial Detection option on.

Autoskip was working when I installed 1.11.6 but since I installed 11.6.2 autoskip does not work anymore for any recordings. When I go to LibreELEC/About the version shown is 11.6.2. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Quote from: denny09 on May 06, 2024, 03:38:29 PMAre we any closer to getting the images for programmes as many of them are still blank. At least all Movies should have an image majority do but there are still some that don't. This is the current view of my Emby and you can see the ones that don't have an image have text only.
I think this is more an issue for Emby than IceTV.

Getting Help / Re: subtitles by default

Quote from: IanL-S on May 06, 2024, 04:37:52 PMIn prior generation of LibreELEC *.ts files sometimes played closed captions. On a slightly different issue, the current build is better at isolating the closed captions, it is just in the case of *.ts the play refuses to show them.
It's possible earlier generations of LibreELEC / Kodi displayed subtitles, either in Live TV or recorded TV .ts files, and I suggested a year or so ago that it may have been a re-engineering of Kodi Nexus that might have changed that.

But hey, the main message is that subtitles can be enabled/disabled by default in IceBox, or individually for Live TV channels and/or recordings (matroska format) or videos (including those which do not have subtitles embedded in a matroska container, but do have an associated srt file), by setting the subtitle language under Player in Kodi settings.

Quote from: IanL-S on May 06, 2024, 01:15:05 PMI gather from Delta Mike Charlie that there is (still) active development taking place of the TVHeadend add-on.

Not sure why closed captions are not working with *.ts; my recollection is that it is a known problem - it is not a TVHeadend problem but a Kodi problem (if I recall correctly).
.........
As a matter of interest, for anyone using the IceBox as a media player for files not generated by IceBox, subtitles are also displayed for mkvs with embedded subtitles using the IceBox player, and even for other video files where there are external subtitle files present.

I have also played recording from my Beyonwiz that I converted to *.mkv on my IceBox. In prior generation of LibreELEC *.ts files sometimes played closed captions. On a slightly different issue, the current build is better at isolating the closed captions, it is just in the case of *.ts the play refuses to show them.
