Title: Information needed for new channels (7flix, TEN HD and more)
Post by: Daniel Hall at IceTV on February 25, 2016, 06:53:46 PM
With the launch of new channels (TEN HD, 7flix, along with 9Life and 9HD in NBN areas) we need to get the DVB Triplets for these channels so the guide information can be mapped correctly.

We need the following information for each channel in each region:

TSID
ONID
SID
Channel Name
Region

QuoteTo get these id numbers for each of these channels on the Beyonwiz T2/T3/T4 units:

- First you will need to make sure that you are in Intermediate or Expert mode.
  - In T4, T2 and recent T3 software versions go to 'Menu > System > GUI Settings' and change the 'Setup Mode' to Expert.
  - In older T3 software versions go to 'Menu > System > OSD Settings' and change the 'GUI Mode' to Expert.

Now you are ready to write down the TSID, ONID and SID numbers.

1. Change channel to one of those channels that has no IceTV guide data.
2. Exit any menus, EPGs and guides etc. i.e. Go to live TV.
3. Go to 'Menu > Information > Service'.
4. Once you are in the 'Information > Service' menu, press the Green button.
5. Now note the TSID, ONID and SID details shown for this channel.

Repeat steps 1 to 5 for all other affected channels, and reply to this thread with the details.

QuoteTo get these id numbers for each of these channels on the SKIPPA units:

1. Press Menu.
2. Select Settings and press OK.
3. Select Channels and press OK.
4. Select one of the affected channels and press the Yellow button.
5. Write down the Frequency MHz.
6. Write down the Triple including the colons.
7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the other affected channels.

Reply to this thread with the channel name, number, frequency and triple numbers (on 1 line per channel).

For example:

9 - Nine Sydney - 191.67 MHz - 4114:1056:1057
99 - GO! - 191.67 MHz - 4114:1056:1059

We will update this thread as these channels go live for IceTV in each of these regions.

I don't get LCN info for the channels, but here's what I have (TSID:ONID:SID):

Brisbane
604:1014:644 TEN HD
504:1013:545 7flix

Melbourne
603:1014:634 TEN HD
503:1013:535 7flix

Perth
607:1014:684 TEN HD
506:1013:565 7flix

Sydney
602:1014:624 TEN HD
502:1013:525 7flix

Hi Dan

For Melbourne I get the following from my SKIPPA:

10HD 219.5 MHz 4116:1539:1588

7flix 177.5 MHz 4115:1283:1333

Ian

PS I hope I do not have any transcription errors this time

PS This looks nothing like the information in the prior post which I assume is from a Beyonwiz. I have not checked with my T2. On the T2 I get for 7flix 0503:1013:0535. Need to do a service scan to get 10HD but the t2 is currently recording.

I suspect the SKIPPA is reporting in decimal. The Beyonwiz reports in hex.

Here's Adelaide

654:605:1014 TEN HD
555:505:1013 7flix

NB: in scotty's Adelaide post, while the numbers are correct, he's posted in Beyonwiz serviceref order, SID:TSID:ONID, not TSID:ONID:SID.

In TSID:ONID:SID order.

Adelaide
605:1014:654 TEN HD
505:1013:555 7flix

Geelong
603:1014:634 TEN HD
503:1013:535 7flix

Hmm, I thought there was something different in the positioning of the groups. Clearly I am not the only one who gets things slightly confused when looking at this. At least I do not seem to have made any errors this time around.

Ok, 7flix and TEN HD have been enabled in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The only region left is the Gold Coast (just need the triplets for this region). They have placeholder data until the channels start on the 28th and 2nd so they can be used right now.

For NBN regions we will not be able to change the channels around until the new channels start unfortunately.

...

The TSID:ONID:SID ordering that Daniel has suggested in his post comes from the order that they're displayed on the Beyonwiz  screen MENU>Setup>Information>Services, GREEN PIDs (where they're presented in both hex and decimal). The SID:TSID:ONID (which is the reverse hierarchical order) is how they're shown in the service ref (fields 4-6). These (but not all) values in the serviceref are in hex.

I don't think it really matters which ordering you use, as long as you make it clear :D

I thought that 7flix (at least) would also show up on Qld Sunshine Coast (the 7flix Wikipedia entry says that STQ will carry it).

In the Beyonwiz forum I've prompted for serviceref info for the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast (for the new picons). I'll re-post whatever I get here.

Sadly yes, there was a register that FreeTV used to maintain, but the last I heard the person whos job that was left and the duties were not re-assigned.

IanSav on the Beyonwiz forum contacted FreeTV about the register. He posted that the response he'd had from them was:
QuoteThe person who maintains the document in question have been overseas for a very long time but has just returned to Australia. He will apparently get to update the document "in due course".

That was in December last year. The AUSTRALIAN DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION BROADCASTING SERVICE INFORMATION REGISTER (http://www.freetv.com.au/media/Engineering/SI_Allocations_Register_v6.pdf) still hasn't been updated. The fact that FreeTv left it without updates for more than three years because someone was overseas doesn't bode well for reliable and timely updates in the future.

It's also only available as a PDF, even though the PDF shows that the actual data is a spreadsheet.

See the whole sorry tale in Listings for ONID/TSID/SID triplets for digital TV channels on the Beyonwiz forum (you'll have to cut and paste the URL because of the mangling that the forum does on ampersands in URLs: http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=9892.

It's been discussed on the Beyonwiz forum before, in the context of getting the equivalent data for picon setup. I'd have thought it would be a bit hard in some cases matching the triples, LCNs and channel names back to regions for IceTV's use of the data. That's less of an issue for the picon setup, where it's basically done on the triple and the service name. I currently only organise that data by region because that's how I get it.

Dan, in Melbourne the place holder data says 10HD is starting of 28 Feb rather than the correct date in March.

Not sure if it is critical but it could cause confusion.

OurGuide has 10HD guide from 3pm Wednesday the 2nd. The TV says starting on that day but no guide yet
IceTV shows guide from 12.30am on the 2nd

OK, I have a question.  Being lazy, I suppose.  If I have my timers set to SD preferred, is there a hurry for me to fix all this?  I mean, seeing that 7 and 10 aren't happening on the same day, any harm done if I wait till after the 2nd of March to fix everything?

Not really, except 7flix is showing different content to 7, so there is a chance you 'might' miss something worth recording.

Having said that there is no problems just making the changes now, as both channels are already broadcasting a test loop, and the guide data is already available with placeholder data in place until actual broadcasting begins.

I see 7flix has been added to the "NSW - Newcastle" region on the Guide Settings page. May as well delete it. PRIME7 have no intention of showing it.

A reply to someone asking on their FB page ....

Thank you for your message. PRIME7 currently has no commercial arrangements in place with the Seven Network to broadcast 7flix.

This also means we do not hold the rights to broadcast any of the programs shown on 7flix on our existing channels.

Adding new channels is technically challenging, takes time and requires substantial capital investment. From a broadcast engineering perspective, regional broadcasters are far more complex businesses than metro operations, covering larger geographic areas with multiple signals that service a large number of local areas across regional Australia.

We will certainly update viewers if and when this new service becomes available in regional areas.

Details from the Gold Coast from my Skippa:

TenHD 4116:1540:1604
7flix (LCN 76) 4115:1284:1349

I don't pick up 7flix on LCN 66 for some reason.  My skippa's (I now have two) both have problems with loose connections in their antenna-in socket, which reduced signal quality substantially (and requires careful positioning of the cable to make the contacts), so perhaps that's why.  But I'm getting all the other channels on the same frequency, scanned today, so it seems unlikely that that's the cause.

80 327A:3273:793 WIN Canberra HD
81 327A:3273:784 WIN Canberra
82 327A:3273:786 GEM Canberra
83 327A:3273:785 GO! Canberra
84 327A:3273:790 LIFE
85 327A:3273:788 Extra
86 327A:3273:787 GOLD
88 327A:3273:782 GO! Canberra

I think that pretty much everything changed. I'll provide more new WIN triple data as I get it for picon use on the Beyonwiz forum, but I won't ba able to provide LCNs on those triples.

Triples for Orange (TSID:ONID:SID channel name):

327C:3273:781 WIN Orange
327C:3273:782 GO! Orange
327C:3273:784 WIN Orange
327C:3273:785 GO! Orange

327C:3273:787 GOLD
327C:3273:788 Extra
327C:3273:790 LIFE
327C:3273:791 WIN Orange HD

It looks as though corresponding SIDs are for corresponding LCNs in the Canberra data except for WIN HD, which uses different SIDs in the two sets, but the LCN should be clear.

Daniel,

Thanks for fixing up Newcastle.

Quick question ...

If I say want to record Rugby League: The Footy Show and I set the recording from "NBN" and keep the default setting Quality - prefer high def, will it automatically record the high def version on NBN HD.

NBN is 8 and "NBN HD" is 80. 80 is a simulcast of 8.

I hope this makes sense!

Yes, it will do what you ask.

However, it does it in a slightly confusing way. If I set the timer from its WIN* guide entry, the recording's "Quality" setting will (incorrectly IMO) default to "Prefer high def." When I go ahead and set the timer, it shows up in the new guide page as having a series recording entry for WIN and a greyed-out entry for WIN HD. But If I then go to My Week, the recording correctly shows up as for WIN HD. If I now look at the show in the guide, it shows correctly as recording on WIN HD.

Try it. Then you'll have a definitive answer.

* My local Nine affiliate is WIN, not NBN, but I suspect that the same will apply for you.

What prl is describing is a result of the webpage needing to be refreshed (after the IceTV server has processed the newly set series).

- At first the SD episode that was clicked on to set the 'series recording' displays the red icon (regardless of if it matches the chosen options for that series or not).
- Then after clicking on the tv guide tab again, or returning to it from another tab, the IceTV server has processed that series and the web page has refreshed so now the actual matching episodes display red icons and non-matching episodes display grey icons.

The same thing occurs with repeats and new episodes.

Also this behaviour occurs when setting a series for a daily show. At first only the episode that was clicked on has the red icon. Then after refreshing the page all matching episodes for the whole week will now have the red icon.

Maybe we could make the open tab auto refresh a few seconds after setting or editing a series.

I didn't even think of looking at the recordings under the My Week tab or on future days in the TV Guide. I checked the NBN one's that I set obviously before NBN HD came aboard and yes, they are all recording from the NBN HD channel.

Interestingly though, the one I just set about 10 minutes ago still shows under NBN even though I've swapped between tabs, refreshed the browser etc.

The only schedule I can see on NBN is the one at 10:30pm tonight showing a timer conflict with 5 other schedules. Maybe the T4 reported the error as being on NBN instead of NBN HD.

Ok, couple of things there. When I was mucking around earlier, there wasn't the yellow icon showing a problem. That's obviously appeared later.

Also, I picked that program on NBN as a "test" because I thought it wouldn't clash. By that time (10:20pm; I have a 10 minute "start" padding), there should only be 3 programs recording??

New WIN channel setup (WIN HD, LIFE) for Canberra (LCN TSID:ONID:SID channel name):
8 327A:3273:781 WIN Canberra
80 327A:3273:793 WIN Canberra HD

85 327A:3273:788 Extra
86 327A:3273:787 GOLD
88 327A:3273:782 GO! Canberra

I think that pretty much everything changed. I'll provide more new WIN triple data as I get it for picon use on the Beyonwiz forum, but I won't ba able to provide LCNs on those triples.

Ok, Canberra is updated and ready to go.

Working on Orange now.

I'm in Canberra and have no EPG data for any of the WIN/GEM channels (and failed IceTv recordings). I've rescanned services on the Beyonwiz T4, and I've tried entering the new LCN numbers in Peter's post into the my IceTV settings. I've resent recording, told the T4 to 'Fetch EPG and update timers', done a hard reboot, all to no avail.

Am I missing something here?

Cheers
Mark

EDIT: Update, I've found Peter's advice on the Beyonwiz forum regarding manually re-scanning the WIN Channels. This has worked in terms of being able to view the Win channels. I don't seem to be able to get the IceTV EPG to show anything for these channels, nor can I schedule recordings on them.    I also checked the service details: my ONID is showing as 0x0000 (0d) for all WIN channels.

EDIT x 2: OK. Problem seems to have been caused by some random error when re-scanning the WIN channels. I repeated the manual scan and by ONID now matches Peters, and EPG and timers are a-ok. Will leave the post here just in case anyone else finds themself in a similar situation.

Good to hear. The instructions do suggest checking (step 7) the Last Scanned and Terrestrial TV LCN after the manual clear scan and scan WIN steps (steps 3-6) :)

Thanks PEter. I checked them at step 7. Channels were there, and they were viewable.....they just had names like 2915800 0786. etc. And, not having done a manual scan before I wasn't sure whether this was the norm, or something to do with missing picons etc (which I've never had cause to try to understand :) ).

Hi don't know if this is the right place to post this sorry. in my icetv account i don't have WIN HD CH 80 there is only 9HD Melbourne. I don't live in Melbourne i live in warrnambool. in the drop down list there is no warrnambool to Select and there is no regional Victoria ether. iv Selected ballarat as my Region as that is the closes to my region and its been working great but it does not have the WIN HD CH 80 will this be updated thanks.

Is there anyone with a Skippa or T series Beyonwiz using the "VIC - Shepparton" region?

If so, can you please provide the id numbers for these channels:

8 WIN
80 WIN HD
81 WIN
82 Gem
83 Go!
84 Life
88 Go!

The steps to get the numbers are in the first post by Daniel Hall in this forum topic.

Daniel, I assume, because of these posts, that, like me, you haven't found a better way of getting these triples than just asking people? :(

Hi prl, I've never had success before but I've just asked Freeview...

I wasn't sure which triples would be relevant, so this is everything (TSID:ONID:SID order).

Prime Media (who own both Prime 7 and GWN7) have been rather shy about when, or even if, they will carry 7flix. For example (http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2016/02/no-7flix-for-prime-new-channels-soon-for-win.html).
